A mathematician has calculated that there is one in 500 chances for the human race to be wiped out completely within next year. Fergus Simpson from University of Barcelona claims humanity has 0.2% chance of an apocalypse occurring in any given year in this century.
In a paper published on Arxiv, Simpson wrote: "In a year when Leicester City F.C. were crowned Premier League champions, we are reminded that events of this rarity can prove challenging to anticipate, yet they should not be ignored."
According to the mathematician 100 billion have already been born and 100 billion will be born more. But the increased birth rate indicates humanity is close to the Doomsday. "It it quite worrying that we are so producing so many people, because it implies our time is limited if we keep it up," he added.
If his calculations are errorless, then, he is 87 percent certain to see the Doomsday within 2100. Simpson suggests that humans should look after the civilization in the same way they look after their health.
Meanwhile, the president of the United States Donald Trump wants to exit the Paris Agreement for Climate Change. He wants to increase the usage of oil, fossile fuels and industries going against the former president Barack Obama, who has set policies on cutting down the greenhouse gas emission by 26-28 percent by 2025.
Trump claims China creating a "hoax" of Climate change however, China has declined it during the International Conference at Marrakesh last week saying they "didn't invent Climate Change."
Adding to it, Liu Zhenmin, China's vice foreign minister, said the history tells climate change negotiations were initiated by the IPCC with the support of the Republicans during the Reagan and senior Bush administration during the late 1980s.
Although, there are number of things up in the media the major question is "should we believe in apocalypse and expect it soon?"
