The Undertaker is back to the WWE roster as he has announced that he will be a part of SmackDown. This is great news for the fans of the Deadman and it is speculated that this will culminate in the Undertaker retirement match at the WrestleMania in 2017.
SmackDown had its greatest moment when the Undertaker returned. His return also sets the storyline for the WrestleMania that is scheduled in 2017. The Undertaker also mentioned in his segment that he wants to see Team Blue succeed in Survivor Series rather than Team Raw. And, in case Team Raw wins, they will have to pay a hefty price, reports Heavy.
It must be mentioned here that in all probability, the 51-years old will not be returning to a full-time schedule as it will be too much for his age and body to take, but what WWE has planned for him is yet to be seen. Moreover, he will appear only for televised events and for WWE Network specials, but the frequency of his appearance is not known, reports Wrestling Inc.
Additionally, it is rumored that this will be the Undertaker farewell tour, which will conclude with his final retirement match at the WrestleMania in 2017.
Notably, the Undertaker's WWE return helped SmackDown get record ratings as it successfully pulled a 0.95 rating and about 2.725 million viewers. This jump was huge compared to the previous week's drop due to the presidential election.
Now it remains to be seen what is coming up for the Undertaker. And, since his appearance is limited, fans can expect to see him on special events that include The Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
The Undertaker has also said that the wrestlers should fear him if they end up losing and speculation suggest that he will start the feud with AJ Styles at The Royal Rumble. And, with his win, he will put his title on the line against his opponent John Cena at WrestleMania.
Well, if this turns out to be true, it will be a huge event in every sense as Cena's win will have the Undertaker retiring and Cena may turn out to be the winner of the most world titles. And, if this is really the Undertaker's farewell tour, he is surely doing do so with great pomp and style.
