Though the first has only been in theaters for a few days, we already have some information on the next upcoming sequel. Screenwriter J.K. Rowling and director David Yates have already spilled some spoilers for Fantastic Beasts 2. Here are six of them.

Grindelwald

You can expect a lot more Johnny Depp in the upcoming sequel. Director David Yates has even revealed that the 2018 sequel will have less focus over Newt's [Eddie Redmayne] creatures to accommodate Gellert Grindelwald's storyline.

European Adventures

The second film will be leaving New York. Yates has also confirmed that Paris and the United Kingdom would also be explored.

"We will go back to the U.K. in the second film as well - it's going to be U.K. and Paris," Yates mentioned in a recent interview. "I'm not sure where Jo will be setting the rest of the movies, but they'll definitely be European-centric."

Dumbledore

The Fantastic Beasts producers are already starting the casting process in the search for a young Albus Dumbledore. Those who read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows knows that he is very much connected to Grindelwald's story.

Lestrange Family

When Zoe Kravitz was announced in a mysterious small role, it has been revealed that she could have a bigger role in the sequel. The first film made it clear that Newt and Leda Lestrange were once friends and maybe even more, it's hard to imagine the other movies not delving into their history as well.

Timeline of the Movies

Expect Newt to get older and older over the next four films. Rowling revealed that the 1st film started in 1926 and the 5th and final film will wrap up in 1945.

Confirmed Release Date
