'Assassin's Creed' Update: Film gets a companion experience for VR Clip: Movie-goes to Experience the World of an Assassin

The upcoming Assassin's Creed film will debut on December 14, 2016, and it's going to get some amazing promotional kick from a virtual reality experience. 20th Century Fox, Advanced Micro Devices, New Regency, and Alienware have partnered up to launch a VR experience that will take you into the world of Assassin's Creed.

Enter the world of AC through VR

In the movie, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) will experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar. In the VR experience, you will get to see the 15th Century world of Spain through his eyes as he battles the oppressive Templar organization.

The VR experience debuted during the Game Awards on the Oculus Rift and the Samsung Gear VR. Starting December 2 through January 1, 2017, the Assassin's Creed Movie VR Experience will be released at AMC Theaters in San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles, and New York City.

We are very much delighted and honored to team up with Fox and are very excited to demonstrate how world-class VR can be produced and experienced on AMD technology," said Roy Taylor, AMD VP of content, alliances, and VR, in a recent statement.

Developed and rendered using some AMD Radeon technology designed to develop the creation of real-time photorealistic Virtual Reality content, the Assassin's Creed Movie VR Experience was also shot on the exact location during the movie's filming phase.

The live VR Experience will definitely allow fans to experience the world of an Assassin in the exact setting of the highly anticipated film.
