"Star Wars" franchise has one of the largest fan base and movie enthusiasts can hardly wait for its next installment. Even though it is common for big blockbusters and TV series to be spoiled from time to time, it is not so with the "Star Wars" series. As the production team preserves every detail of the film under strictest control, there might just be a small leak revealing the title of the next Skywalker film.
According to recent reports, European Union Intellectual Property Office received a title submission request from Lucasfilm for their next film, noted AVS Forum. Looks like the next episode will be called as "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny," reported Cinema Blend.
Having said that, it is also important to note that this trademark can be applicable to a list of over 2000 items, out of which one of them is motion pictures.
Even when the title, "Forces of Destiny" remains largely a rumor, it still aligns perfectly with "The Force Awakens" theme. In Episode VIII, Rey will be finally seen being trained and mentored by Luke Skywalker. The two heroes met at the end of "The Force Awakens," as they were destined to. There is also be dark force of Kylo Ren that will be another force of destiny to be introduced in the next "Star Wars" film.
Even though the title seems convincing, there is also another possibility as there is already a "Star Wars" product with similar name. Fantasy flight developed a roleplaying game in collaboration with Disney that they called "Force and Destiny." However, since the game has been available for quite sometime, it doesn't seem to be the title for the game; but their similarity is hard to overlook, reported Comicbook.
While the "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is still shrouded by mystery and will be released in December 2017, the fans are eager to gear up for "Star Wars: Rogue One" that is set for December 16, 2016 release.
