Several "Star Wars: Episode 8" spoilers have surfaced on the internet in the last few weeks. While most of these spoilers talk about Luke Skywalker and Rey, the recent ones reveal key details related to Supreme Leader Snoke's character.
Supreme Leader Snoke was first seen in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as a giant humanoid CGI hologram. Now Making Star Wars speculates that in "Star Wars: Episode 8," Snoke may appear as a practical-effect character, who is able to interact with the surrounding actors.
The tabloid reports that for the first time, Snoke may not appear as a character generated by the computed. Instead, his character will be played by a huge puppet, around seven to eight feet tall. His movement will be controlled by a team that will operate the puppet and there will be a person who will sit inside the huge suit.
It is hinted that a CGI hologram may be used for scenes where only communication between Snoke and other characters is depicted. However, his face-to-face interaction with key roles such as General Hux and Kylo Ren may involve the use of the massive puppet.
It is also rumored that the puppet's facial expressions will be enhanced with the help of CGI effects. But if "Star Wars: Episode 8" makers are planning to use a puppet in the film, it is not clear how actor Andy Serkis would be playing the role of Leader Snoke.
According to reports, Serkis may play Leader Snoke's character in scenes where a hologram is used. But one thing is clear, Leader Snoke is not an illusion and may not be human as well.
Meanwhile, Daisey Ridley finds it strange to realize that "Star Wars" fans are still confused over her true parentage. The International Business Times reports that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" gave a lot of hints about who Rey's parents are.
"Star Wars: Episode 8" is currently under production and is expected to be released in December 2017.
