Paul George has been the subject of numerous trade rumors for a couple of weeks. One of those big reports that were talked about last week is his looming transfer to the Detroit Pistons. However, Pistons organization have already denied such speculation. Now, reports are now saying that there is a big possibility Paul George could be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 26-year old small forward have gathered the accolades and praises of NBA fans for being an exciting player. He was voted 3 times as an NBA All-Star and been a member of US Basketball Team who won the gold medal in the recently concluded Rio Olympics. Having established his name in the basketball world, he's been a high-value target by many teams and it seems that the Lakers are considering of acquiring him from the Pacers.
Last September, a report by The Inquisitr revealed that the Los Angeles are really keen on having a trade for Paul George before the season starts. During that time, the Lakers are willing to give up lottery picks to the Pacers just to get the services of George. However, it seems that the Indiana Pacers are not inclined to trade their superstar and willing to stick it out with George.
Yibada English also detailed the supposed-to-be-transaction of the Lakers and Pacers. Since the Lakers are eager to have a superstar to replace franchise player Kobe Bryant who just retired last season, a package of D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram was also offered to Pacers for Paul George. Many believed that this could be what the Pacers is just waiting to make the deal however as history goes the trade never materialize.
But now, with the Lakers losing their last 7 games, will they reconsider of offering again Russell and Ingram to the Pacers for George? Some Pacers fans are saying that the team might give in with this kind of offer, a superstar for 2 potential superstars, however, the Pacers may ask for an additional asset to the Lakers like future draft picks to sweeten the pot for them.
