The Anthony Davis is still headlining the report on NBA trade rumors today. For quite some time, his name was not even mentioned in any trade deals but for a couple of weeks, he's been the hot topic of many news articles about his 'supposed' transfer. One fan is now asking, is there a possibility that Davis could be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers.
For one, Davis is undoubtedly one of the rising superstars of the league. He is one of the explosive and dominant centers in the league today and his stats says it all. Averaging 30.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game it is easy to say that he'll set the new standards in the center spot.
However, even he is producing gigantic numbers, the Pelicans is still at the bottom half of the Western Conference standing with an 8-18 record. Rumors are now spreading that Davis is losing patience with the current situation of the team and might decide to opt out on his contract early.
HNGN already reported last month that Davis was already linked to the Los Angeles Clippers. In the alleged deal, NBA trade scenario is saying that Anthony Davis will be heading to Lob City in exchange for DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, and J.J. Redick.
However, it seems that the Clippers are not inclined to trade the 3 players mentioned as it will disrupt the chemistry of the team and also the combination of their Big 3 consist of Jordan, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. It is also illogical for the Clippers to send those players while they are doing great early in the season. With that, the rumored deal was immediately shut down.
ESPN earlier discussed that if it is plausible to trade Davis when one basketball expert was asked. Trading Davis is one ultimate bravery test for the Pelicans according to the expert but if decided to sell him high, this could be the perfect time. He is posting MVP-caliber numbers and many teams will be willing to add him to their roster.
Could the Lakers be one of those teams who are willing to make a deal with Pelicans? Is there really a possibility that Anthony Davis could be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers before the NBA trade deadline?
