Mobile World Congress (MWC) is what the tech enthusiasts are waiting for. MWC 2017 will showcase tremendous developments in the tech market and it is a combination of the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a conference featuring prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world
Location and Date: Mobile World Congress takes place each year in the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Spain, at two venues: Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuïc. MWC occurs at the end of February each year and this year event will begin on Monday, February 27 and continue up to Thursday, March 2, 2017. It is reported that the general event opening hours are from 9:00 to 19:00.
Tech Companies: According to Mirror UK, Mobile World Congress 2017 will witness biggest tech brands including Sony, LG, Samsung, Motorola and Huawei are expected to unveil their new flagship smartphones. The other companies are expected to arrive with innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and virtual reality.
"Over the past three decades, mobile has evolved from an emerging communications technology to a phenomenon that is now at the foundation of everything we do," said Michael O'Hara, chief marketing officer at the GSMA, which runs MWC.
It is reported that more than 2,200 companies will exhibit at Mobile World Congress 2017, including the major tech giants Google, HTC, Huawei, Intel, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony. Also, it is reported that there will be the presence of O2 and Vodafone mobile operators and few car manufacturing companies include Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen.
It is reported that MWC 2017 will be hosting a series of lectures, keynote speeches and round-table discussions with industry bigwigs along with the device launches. The Keynote speakers in MWC 2017 show include John Hanke, founder, and CEO of Niantic, Reed Hastings, founder and CEO of Netflix , and Rajeev Suri, President and CEO of Nokia.
