LG Watch Style vs. Moto 360 (2nd Gen.): Which Is the Best Smart Watch?

LG has launched the two new smartwatches into the tech market - watch Style and Watch Sport. The new LG smartwatches are first ones to arrive Android Wear 2.0 OS. A clear comparison is made between the LG Watch Style and second generation Moto 360 smartwatches.

LG Watch Style

Design: The LG Watch Style's round dial measures to 42mm X 46mm. The thickness of the dial is 10.8mm.The LG Watch Style features a stainless steel face with a plastic back and a Gorilla Glass 3 display. The consumers can choose the watch in silver, titanium and rose gold colors and the company offers either leather or silicone interchangeable bands.

Display: LG Watch Style doesn't have pressure sensitive feature but has a P-OLED (Plastic AMOLED) display technology having 360 X 360 resolution with 299ppi. Also, the watches have a rotating crown/power button for navigation with a twist.

Processor: LG's wearable comes with a 1.1GHz Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and runs on the newly released Android Wear 2.0 OS. Google's new OS release allows the user to have an on-watch version of the Google Play Store which does not require any intermediary device.

Other Features: LG Watch Style has IP67 water resistance rating up to 1m for 30 minutes and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and no GPS. The device also sports Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensors, Gyroscope and an always-on display mode. The watch is included with 240mAh battery to power the phone for longer duration and is compatible with Android and iPhone smartphones.

Second generation Moto 360

Design: Moto 360 (2nd Gen) comes in two variants with different dial sizes - 46mm and 42mm. The thickness of the dial is 11.4mm. Moto 360 also features a stainless steel face with a plastic back and a Gorilla Glass 3 display. The 46mm dial Moto 360 comes in silver, black and gold colors. The other 42mm Moto 360 comes in silver, black, gold and rose gold colors. The company offers either steel or silicone, interchangeable bands.

Display: Moto 360 (2nd Gen) smartwatch is not a round dial watch, as it has a flattened-off area at the bottom. The Moto 360 with 46mm dial is equipped with IPS 360x330 resolution display having 233ppi pixel density. The other 42mm dial variant is equipped with IPS 360x325 resolution display having 263ppi pixel density. The watch has no rotating crown/power button for navigation with a twist.

Processor: Moto 360 (2nd Gen) smartwatch features Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 305 with 450MHz GPU coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Moto 360 is expected to soon receive the Android Wear 2.0 OS update which will bring a number of perks, including an on-watch version of the Google Play Store.
