Two baby twins, one boy and one girl was said to be attacked by a person. The one-year-old, baby boy Gabriel’s then died due to the injury. While his baby sister, Maria was still reported to be in critical condition in Royal London Hospital.
According to The Sun, the twin babies was found injured by the police in their flat near Finsbury Park last Saturday. Their mother, Cristinela Datcu was then mentioned first to discover her babies injured after stepping in the shower.
Seeing Gabriel and Marie bleeding, Datcu rushed into the streets shouting for help. A neighbor then gave a statement that while she was watching TV, she heard someone screaming and she doesn’t know the reason clearly. She then said that she opened the window and she asked: “Can I help you, can I call the police for you?” Yet, amid efforts, Gabriel didn’t hold on longer and was reported to be dead on Sunday at 12:48 a.m.
The police then found a hammer inside a sand bag right around a property on Wilberforce Road. The weapon believed to be the one used is now being investigated. On the other hand, the suspect for the twin’s attack was believed to be their father, Bidhya Sagar Das. The 33-year-old man was then found after 20 hours and was arrested for suspicion of murder and attempted murder per Metro.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said that their thoughts are with the family of the late Gabriel. “Whilst we remain in the early stages of the investigation, a man has now been arrested. I would still like to hear from anyone who may have any information regarding this terrible incident,” he stated.
