The New England Patriots seem to be not done on augmenting their roster. Latest news is linking them to free-agent wide receiver Victor Cruz as a possible target this offseason. Will Cruz perfectly fit the Patriots offense next season?
The New England Patriots had an amazing 2016 NFL season. They were able to beat the 31 other teams to capture the Super Bowl title and regain the championship they've won in 2014. Since 2001, they have won five Super Bowl titles making them one of the successful franchise in this new era.
And every year, the New England Patriots appears to be building their roster to get better. With that being said, the Patriots are now looking to reinforce their lineup again and one plausible option for their potent offense is said to be free agent wide receiver Victor Cruz.
SB Nation reported last month that the New York Giants has decided to part ways with Victor Cruz after six seasons with them. Cruz, who was signed by the Giants after being undrafted in 2010, became one of the offensive options on the wing for the team along with Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard. With him available, the New England Patriots could be the best landing spot for him next season.
Though the New England Patriots have already added wide receiver Brandin Cooks last month, getting a talented player like Victor Cruz is a welcome addition to their offense. His built and height is a perfect choice for Tom Brady on the wings. Though Cruz suffered an injury in 2014, he came back last season fully recovered and helping the team reach the postseason.
In seven seasons with the New York Giants, Victor Cruz was able to register 303 excellent reception for 4,549 yards and 25 touchdowns. He s also a one-time Pro Bowler and already won a Super Bowl title with the Giants against none other than New England Patriots in the 2011 season.
Will the New England Patriots be able to land Victor Cruz this offseason?
