Tiger Woods was arrested in Florida due to drunken driven. The golfer has however blamed his prescription medication that led to unexpected reactions but also issued an apology.
Former No. 1 golfer, Tiger Woods was arrested on Monday due to suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. According to reports from The Guardian, Woods was arrested at 3 a.m from near his home in Jupiter Island and was released at 10:50 a.m from the Palm Beach County Jail. However, no details pertaining to the level of substance, whether he was going or coming from somewhere has not been revealed.
Woods has taken full responsibility and has said that he is aware of the severity of his actions. However, he also stated that he was not under the influence of alcohol, but it was the mix of the medications that had such a strong impact on him, ABC News reported. He also issued an apology, stating, "I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too."
Notably, Woods has been amongst the best golfers, who won his first tournament at the age of 21 in 1997. Before he turned 32, he had won 14 major championships but since the U.S. Open in 2008, he has not won any major tournament. Rather, he was embroiled in a string of scandals that led to his divorce from his wife, Elin Nordegren, a former model and he has also been fighting several injury problems and inconsistency.
It is worth mentioning here that in the history of sports, this is the most disgraceful incident that has ever happened. However, in 2009, Woods was involved in another incident where he crashed his car into a hydrant and for his careless driving, he had to pay a fine of $164.
