Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend Liz Jannetta are on this season of VH's "Couples Therapy." In a sneak peek of their therapy session, the former reality star opened up about his split from Kate Gosselin and how it's affected his relationship with Jannetta.
In the clip, Jon reveals that he never cheated on Kate despite reports claiming that his infidelity ruined the marriage. He admitted that he and Kate were having issues but he did not step outside his marriage.
"My marriage was very non-affectionate," he told the group. "It was just kind of like 10 years of a business transaction. So many kids, it was just like 'we don't have time to work on our marriage.'"
"There was an emptiness... there was always an emptiness," he continued but said he never cheated. "I always felt like I did Kate's task list. Here's the post-it notes, this is what you have to do, this is how you're a good husband, this is how you're gonna behave."
Jon explained that he thought if he completed the "notes" that would help them get their marriage back on track but it didn't. He admitted that he started going out and staying out late which didn't help the situation.
"The biggest misconception is that the reason we got a divorce was that I cheated on my wife... I didn't," he said.
However, because of all the negative attention he received in the media he thinks it's affected his relationship with Jannetta. In the therapy session the "Jon & Kate: Plus Eight" star said he did sleep with other women while he was "on a break" from Jannetta, which has added to their relationship problems.
"When we took a little break... in a couple weeks he had someone else living with him," she said. "I lost a lot of trust in him."
