Earlier in the week former "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham made shocking claims that she was abused for several years as a child. The 22-year-old told In Touch magazine that her parents, Debra Danielson and Michael Abraham, would "beat me with a belt if I acted out."
"I had cuts, bruises, welts, swelling and scars," she said.
Abraham's father, who lives in her reality star's guest house, took to Facebook following the accusations to defend himself.
"All I can say is that I have always and do love my daughter Farrah. I'm not perfect and never said I was. I've done the best I could for Farrah and Sophia. I have... tried to be there for my girls and continue to work with Farrah to strengthen our relationship in a healthy manner. My prayer to improve myself, be the father Farrah needs, and be a positive person for Farrah and Sophia so Farrah does not have to be haunted from negatives in her past and have a happy and a healthy future," he wrote, the Christian Post reports.
Abraham told the magazine that the abuse got so bad that she finally reached a breaking point after one nasty fight with her mom in 2010 over her now 4-year-old daughter, Sophia.
"It was a turning point," she said. "I needed to stop the abuse."
That was when the young mother made the decision to move out on her own but unfortunately Abraham said the abuse didn't end there. After the release of her sex tape, she told the magazine that she began hanging around the "wrong type" of people.
The "Couples Therapy" star said she started booking gigs at porn conventions and strip clubs which put her in dangerous situations.
"I was drugged and raped more than once," she revealed. "I allowed the [wrong] type of people into my life. It was a very dark time."
