Kim Jong Un, the North Korean dictator, forced hundreds of people to stand in the bitter cold to hear a lecture praising his father while he and his cronies sat in covert heaters.

Attendees braved temperatures as low as 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 degrees Celsius) to hear Kim Jong Il's address, which lasted 30 minutes and commemorated the 80th anniversary of his birth. Kim Jong Il died in 2011. During the address, the attendees stood to attention, many without gloves, scarves, or ear warmers, as seen by photos from the occasion.

However, after discovering a massive cluster of cables running beneath the stage's red carpet, NK News reporters speculated that officials were given preferential treatment. According to reporter Colin Zwirko, the cables undoubtedly led to the usage of heaters to keep the Communist state's leadership warm throughout the lengthy talk.

On Tuesday, the first National Meeting was held outside in the northern city of Samjiyon to commemorate the Kim family's dictatorship.

The Kim family's acolytes have also claimed that Jong Il was born while his father, North Korea's founder, Kim Il Sung, was resisting Japanese colonization in the country. However, according to Soviet records, Il Sung did not visit North Korea until after the Soviet Union conquered the peninsula after the Japanese were defeated in WWII.

Kim Jong Un instructed authorities to transform Samjiyon into a "utopian mountain town" in honor of his father, and the city has been restored in recent years. At 7 pm on Tuesday, a gala and fireworks show were scheduled in Pyongyang's Kim Il Sung Square as part of the celebrations.

Foreign diplomats still in the city were welcomed to the celebration, according to local media, indicating that COVID-19 regulations prohibiting outsiders from attending fireworks celebrations in the capital had been lifted, as per Daily Mail.

North Korean Leader Sends Group of Gardeners to Labor Camp

North Koreans also ascended Pyongyang's Mansu Hill to offer flowers and bow before Kim Jong-il and Kim Il monuments. A propaganda movie released earlier this week showed Kim and his senior generals celebrating the completion of 10,000 apartments in Pyongyang's Hwasong neighborhood.

North Korea has already fired six missiles this year, reportedly in a bid to persuade the US to ease sanctions. Pyongyang paused the testing before the opening of the Winter Olympics in China, its last major ally and economic lifeline, due to severe economic hardships brought about by the virus, according to Metro.

After specific flowers failed to blossom in time for his father's birthday, North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un dispatched a group of gardeners to work camps. When Kim learned that the Kimjongilia Begonias flower, named after his late father Kim Jong-il, would not blossom in time for his birthday, he became enraged. The flowers were expected to be the centerpiece of the big 'Shining Star Day' event, which takes place on February 16.

Han, a 50-year-old Samsu County man, was in charge of the greenhouse where the Kimilsungias and Kimjongilias were being cultivated. He was sentenced to six months at a work camp. Han was reportedly told to make sure the flowers were ready in time for Kim Il's birthday, which is celebrated on the Day of the Shining Star.

For these flowers to blossom, the greenhouse's temperature and humidity must be correctly regulated. Due to a scarcity of firewood, Han and his gardening staff were unable to make the flowers bloom on time. After Kim learned that the flowers had failed to blossom, the crew was accused of shirking their responsibilities.

According to a source acquainted with the situation, the country's emergency disease-control measures caused economic activity to plummet, resulting in the neglect of numerous Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia greenhouses, Republic World reported.
