According to rumors, Prince Andrew is being lined up to accompany the Queen to the Epsom Derby on the Platinum Jubilee weekend. The news comes after the Duke of Edinburgh, who resolved a sex assault allegation earlier this year, was embroiled in a new financial controversy over the weekend.

Insiders say the Queen's disgraced son, 62, will accompany Her Majesty to the Epsom race meeting in June. Following his contentious starring position at Prince Philip's memorial last week, it's another foray into the spotlight.

Prince Andrew Was Linked to Turkish Fraudster

On the Australian Today Extra show, royal analyst Natalie Oliveri explored Prince Andrew's prospective royal homecoming at Epsom Derby. Meanwhile, the Duke has been tied to a multibillion-dollar money-laundering scheme, as per The Sun.

A convicted Libyan gun runner allegedly linked Prince Andrew to an accused fraudster who gave him £1 million ($1.3 million). According to the allegations, the Duke of York and his former wife Sarah Ferguson received suspicious payments from Selman Turk, a former Goldman Sachs banker, as part of a £40 million ($52.5 million) worldwide scam.

Tarek Kaituni was found guilty of bringing a submachine gun into France in 2005. In August 2009, he was invited to Princess Beatrice's 21st birthday party in Spain, where he also presented her with a diamond pendant for £18,000 ($ 23,631), and in 2018, he attended Princess Eugenie's wedding.

Kaituni, a US citizen, subsequently boasted about his power over the Duke of York and assisted in setting up covert meetings with Libyan ruler Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. According to the Telegraph, Turk was introduced to Prince Andrew by Tarek Kaituni at a birthday celebration at Windsor Castle in the early summer of 2019.

Prince Charles, Prince William Raise Concerns on Queen's Closeness to Prince Andrew

Meanwhile, according to sources, Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning to move to Windsor this summer to be closer to the Queen and even look at schools in the region. After rejecting royal mansions such as Prince Andrew's Royal Lodge and Fort Belvedere, the former residence of King Edward VIII, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking at private houses.

According to sources, the pair has also examined Frogmore Cottage, which is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, and Adelaide Cottage, which is located in the heart of Windsor's Home Park and is now occupied. After seeing Lambrook School in Ascot, they are claimed to be looking at schools in Buckinghamshire, Windsor, and Surrey. According to reports, the Queen decided to make Windsor Castle her permanent home and principal residence earlier this month.

After escorting the Queen to the Duke of Edinburgh's burial service on Tuesday, there were worries this week that Prince Andrew, who has been becoming closer to the Queen in recent weeks, is lobbying for a role at the Platinum Jubilee festivities this summer.

To the surprise of many in the audience, the Duke of York took center stage as he accompanied his mother across Westminster Abbey to her seat in full view of the live broadcast cameras. It was the embarrassing royal's first public appearance since a rumored £12 million ($15.7 million) deal with Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in New York to conclude a highly damaging civil sexual assault lawsuit.

Princes Charles and William are said to have expressed reservations on many occasions about permitting the Duke to walk the 95-year-old monarch down to her seat at such a well-publicized ceremony. The future monarchs were completely unified in their belief that he did not need to play such a prominent role.

However, their complaints were overcome by The Queen, who chose Andrew to play a unique role in the event because it was her will and ultimate decision. The decision is reported to have stunned and disappointed senior royals, including Charles and William. Despite Prince William and Prince Charles' misgivings, the Duke of York is said to have had his way after appealing to carry his 95-year-old mother to her seat because she couldn't say no to her favorite son, Daily Mail reported.
