India did not allow a Japan Self-Defense Force aircraft to land and pick up aid for Ukraine. The UN refugees agency office based in Mumbai was not able to send the cargo. By coincidence, New Delhi has chosen neutrality over the issue of Ukraine even if the Biden administration pressured to go along with the sanction.

India Blocks Collection of Aid for Ukrainians

On Thursday, Sanae Takaichi, a policy chief for Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), told local media. The plane was supposed to pick up supplies from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Mumbai and transport them to Europe, reported RT.

The supposed pick-up of supplies was delayed by the authorities in charge of allowing aircraft in the country's airspace.

Takaichi told the party's Policy Research Council Board in a meeting that India, the place of loading, has rejected the admission of SDF aircraft. He also chastised Tokyo, claiming that the government had not laid sufficient foundations, cited Azerbaycan 24.

According to Japanese media reports citing government insiders, the move resulted from a lack of coordination. Both Delhi and Tokyo have not said anything about the incident.

This United Nations Refugee Agency had requested transportation for relief goods that had been stockpiled in India and the United Arab Emirates. It was headed for Poland and Romania, which both have taken in Ukrainian refugees escaping the conflict in Ukraine transported by the Japan Self-Defense Force.

Japan To Dispatch Flights

The Japanese Self-Defense Forces' C2 cargo planes were anticipated to be dispatched once a week starting late April to carry the supplies, remarked the LDP's announcement on Tuesday. A scheduled ten flights are set to do the deliveries.

The Japanese government noted the first flight was slated to take off this weekend. The LDP board and cabinet should have approved the move on Thursday and Friday. Furthermore, the Japanese media and the operation would be delayed because Tokyo needs to "reassess" its intentions, noted Mass News.

Based on UN data, nearly five million people fled Ukraine because the Russian military incursion began on its territories in late February. Over 2.8 million have relocated to Poland, while around 700,000 have relocated to Romania, following Ukraine's unwillingness to implement the requirements of the Minsk agreements, which were first signed in 2014.

Moscow's subsequent recognition of the Donbas republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, Russia launched an attack on its neighboring state in late February.

Kyiv was obligated to respect the German-France mediated protocols that should have been followed for Donetsk and Lugansk in Ukraine, but it never happened. President Vladimir Putin wanted Kyiv to keep away from NATO, but it did the opposite.

Although the Ukrainians denied having provoked Moscow's plans to assault, the Donbas prompted the special operation using force. India stopped the pick-up of supplies by the Japan Self-Defense Force, one of the rows generated by the Ukraine conflict.
