Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle's estranged father, has made headlines by announcing that he will come to the UK this year to witness the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The Duchess of Sussex's father told GB News' Dan Wootton that if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to go over for the celebration, he wants to meet them.
Thomas Markle Makes a Shocking Announcement
When Prince Charles visits in June, he hopes to see him and thank him for escorting his daughter down the aisle at the royal wedding in 2018.
Thomas hasn't seen his 40-year-old daughter since her wedding, and his two grandkids have never met him. He called Prince Harry an 'idiot' for blaming security concerns for perhaps preventing him from attending the Queen's jubilee activities while speaking live from his home in Rosarito, Mexico.
He called the couple's failure to bring their two children, Archie and Lilibet, to see their great-grandmother the Queen "another smack in the face." In another shocking accusation, he said that his daughter encouraged Harry to distance himself from his own family.
Thomas Markle, 77, has also admitted that he worries about never seeing his grandchildren. He said that Prince Harry has "never grown up," referring to the Duke of Sussex's planned book, which is rumored to contain disparaging remarks about his relatives.
He wished to visit the United Kingdom to "express his love and respect" for the Queen and the Royal Family, Thomas Markle stated. It comes after some of Prince Harry's previous statements about his grandmother ahead of her 70th year on the throne festivities, according to The Sun.
The Sussexes Remain Undecided About Attending Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Prince Harry and his family are expected to travel from California to mark the Queen's 70 years on the throne, Daily Mail reported. In June, Buckingham Palace reportedly offered the Sussexes full armed protection at all Royal Family engagements to reassure them after Prince Harry stated he felt unsafe in the United Kingdom.
Even if Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have removed the biggest roadblock to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet attending the Platinum Jubilee, the Duke of Sussex is claimed to be genuinely undecided about flying in to celebrate his grandmother's 70 years on the throne.
On June 2, the Queen's official birthday, the Sussexes would be welcomed onto the Buckingham Palace balcony with the rest of the royals to watch an RAF flypast and the Trooping the Color.
However, because they left their duties as frontline royals when they went to Canada and then Los Angeles two years ago, they would be ineligible to attend working parts of the Jubilee. Prince Harry said in an interview that he wanted to make sure his grandmother was "protected" and had "the correct people around her," which sparked controversy.
Prince Harry also discussed his particular bond with his grandmother, including his public assertion that she confides in him about topics she can't talk about with anyone else.
According to NDTV, former US President Donald Trump claimed earlier this week that Queen Elizabeth should strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles. Trump aimed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in an interview with television personality Piers Morgan that will appear on Monday, accusing Prince Harry of being "very disrespectful to the country."
Trump said that Prince Harry would get tired of being "bossed around" and that Meghan Markle would start seeing "some other guy better," but afterward released a statement accusing Piers Morgan of "unlawfully and falsely" altering the clip.
