Amber Heard explains why people call her "liar" amid the defamation battle against her ex-husband Johnny Depp despite her former personal assistant's revelation that the actress uses a fake sexual abuse story.

Amber Heard has sought to explain why she has been labeled a 'liar' amid her legal troubles with ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife for a Washington Post op-ed she penned in 2018, in which he alleges she defamed him by implying he was abusive to her, even though the actress never mentioned him by name.

Amber Heard Allegedly Steals Sexual Abuse Story

Amber Heard said this week that she was characterized as dishonest because Johnny Depp is a larger star with more PR reach. Jessica Kovacevic testified about Heard's career before and after her widely publicized breakup with Depp in a pre-recorded deposition, stating Warner Bros. sought to replace her star as Mera in the blockbuster sequel.

According to UNILAD, the studio was considering recasting Amber Heard due to a lack of chemistry between her and co-star Jason Momoa. However, Kovacevic feels Warner Bros., wanted to replace Heard because of the poor coverage she was receiving,

Meanwhile, Amber Heard's assistant, Kate James, recently revealed that the claim of being a sexual violence survivor was based on her own experiences as a survivor. Kate James was Amber Heard's assistant from 2012 to 2015, and her evidence might affect the result of the judgment.

Sasha Wass, a member of Heard's defense team, questioned James whether Depp had any impact on the choice to give the harsh testimony against her client, to which she replied emphatically, "Absolutely not," as per Marca.

Actress' Lawyer Wins Team Johnny Depp's Sympathy

Amber Heard's attorney is garnering compassion from Johnny Depp fans who say the actress' lawyer appears exhausted, despite allegations that Heard has had shouting confrontations with her legal team outside the courtroom.

While Amber Heard has sparked controversy and unfavorable comments, her attorney Elaine Bredehoft has received an outpouring of support from Johnny Depp fans who believe the Aquaman actress' case is unjustified.

Online support for Bredehoft grew in the aftermath of Amber's Tuesday testimony during which the attorney struggled amid questioning. On the penultimate day of the trial, while Bredehoft cross-examined Heard, Depp's fastidious lawyer Camille Vasquez objected to every other question Bredehoft sought to ask.

Camille Vasquez's objections were upheld multiple times by the Judge before the well-known case, leading Bredehoft to halt in the middle of a question several times. Others agreed that, despite viral footage of Bredehoft appearing to fail to save Heard's case, she is most likely a capable lawyer.

Messages of support and reassurance filled the comment sections on recordings of Bredehoft in court. It comes amid allegations that Amber Heard has been spotted yelling at her legal team, purportedly enraged that they have not done a good job of protecting her public image.

Heard's reputation was further harmed last Monday when she finally acknowledged failing to pay her pledged $3.5 million gifts to the ACLU while pretending to have done so. Heard claimed that Depp's lawsuit prevented her from donating her whole $7 million divorce settlement. Heard, on the other hand, has claimed multiple times, including under oath in Depp's 2020 libel action in the UK, that she gave the full settlement to charity.

While Depp's supporters are eager to shed light on Heard's alleged abuse of Depp, they have not questioned Bredehoft's credibility. Since 1984, Bredehoft has practiced law in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. She is well-known in the Metropolitan region, and her career has been acknowledged multiple times during her career. Virginia Lawyers Weekly designated Bredehoft a member of Virginia's Legal Elite and one of Virginia's Most Influential Women. Her website also says that Bredehoft has been named one of "America's Best Lawyers" every year since 1997, Daily Mail reported.
