According to a recent report, the US intelligence community believes Russian President Vladimir Putin's health is deteriorating and that he is being treated for cancer.

The conclusion, according by Newsweek to high-ranking sources from three different intelligence organizations, comes after months of rumors that the Russian strongman is dying.

Vladimir Putin Seeks Treatment For Advanced Cancer

According to the article, two additional people - one from the Defense Intelligence Agency and one former Air Force officer - claimed to have access to a detailed intelligence evaluation of Putin's health and indicated the Russian leader's outlook is gloomy.

The evaluation supports the assumption that Putin was absent from the international stage for much of April because he was having treatment for severe cancer.

The intelligence community also believes Putin is becoming increasingly nervous about his position - and that he may have escaped an assassination attempt in March. The officials also cautioned that as Putin's isolation grows, access to trustworthy intelligence will become more difficult to get.

Nonetheless, the sources added that after Putin's broadcast appearance in April, in which he was shown painfully grasping a table while meeting with his defense minister, the intelligence community informed the White House that he was unwell and would most certainly die.

Rumors about Putin's demise have circulated since the beginning of his invasion of Ukraine. The Project, a Russian investigative journalism organization, stated in early April that Putin was very ill and was receiving regular visits from a prominent Russian oncologist.

Claiming account was followed by several stories, including from Telegram groups allegedly connected with Kremlin dissidents, that the ex-KGB guy was undergoing different procedures or was looking for a prospective replacement, as per New York Post.

Russian Hospital Allegedly on Standby For Vladimir Putin

Per the reports, a Moscow hospital is on standby because Russian President Vladimir Putin is suffering from pancreatic cancer. Former Soviet and now Israeli journalist Mark Kotlyarsky said his cancer diagnosis was verified by both the Kremlin and medical informers in Moscow.

By Kotlyarsky, the Kremlin has begun planning for Putin's operation. These accusations, however, looked to be false, like images and video from the major Russian cancer hospital, today revealed no trace of increased security or heightened alert. This week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied that Putin was ill. Other reports come from the General SVR channel, which has long claimed that Putin had stomach cancer. Separately, Russia has claimed that he suffered from blood or thyroid cancer.

Solovey formerly taught at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), which was attended by future senior diplomats and spies, and General SVR claims to have inside information from the Kremlin.

There have been recent Western assertions concerning Putin's health, most notably from ex-MI6 head Sir Richard Dearlove, who suggested the Russian leader faced being taken to a sanatorium and will be gone by 2023 owing to medical concerns. Putin, who will turn 70 in October, recently skipped an annual ice hockey tournament that is traditionally a regular feature in his calendar, Mirror reported.
