Russia accused Washington of breaking international law by adding helicopters to the military aid for Ukraine, its alleged puppet in a proxy war to destabilize Moscow.

Russia sold the helicopters to the US, which is supposed to be for Afghanistan, which is breaching its policies to support the failing regime of Volodymyr Zelensky.

US Violates International Law by Sending Military Aid to Ukraine

With the latest package of military aid to Ukraine, the US is breaking both international obligations and its policies, Russian Ambassador to the US, said that on Wednesday, reported RT.

He pointed out that, among other things, the United States failed to secure the Kremlin's permission before diverting four Mi-17 helicopters from Afghanistan to Ukraine.

The diplomat responded to the US Department of Defense's official statement last week that the aircraft will be handed over to Ukraine, cited VOA.

The US administration approved a deal to buy four Russian helicopters for Afghan allies, but Joe Biden let the Taliban take over in August 2021. Ukraine did maintenance before sending them to Kabul.

According to the ambassador saying the transfer of equipment by Washington has violated an end-user certificate and international law, the Biden administration did not get permission. It seems the US ignores agreements and has denied Russia an appropriate response.

Antonov remarked that Moscow is also concerned about other weapons used in Ukraine's military aid. He highlighted that the stock of Stinger missiles would go against international agreements and targeted at decreasing the risks of such weapons ending up in the hands of malicious people.

He quoted a UN General Assembly resolution from 2007 and other documents, noted the Press United. Adding the US knows the threat of terrorists and criminals getting these portable missiles, mentioned the ambassador.

The United States and Russia have a lengthy agreement to keep tabs on others about illegal weapon systems sold to overseas nations that are terrorists or ill-meant entities.

In statements shared on social media by the embassy, Antonov alerted that the stockpile of multiple rocket launchers in Ukraine presents a danger of escalating the crisis violence.

Washington as Arms Supplier

The United States is sending increasingly heavy weapons to Ukraine, ostensibly to support Kyiv in protecting itself against Russia.

Officials from the United States said they suspected Ukrainian assurances that the weapons would not be misused, including to attack Russian targets.

Kyiv intends to use US-supplied weapons to attack Crimea after humiliation and defeat. Even now, Zelensky denies Crimea never wanted to be a part of Ukraine.

Both Ukraine and the United States objected to Russia's annexation of the peninsula in 2014 after citizens voted in a referendum to gain independence. Since then, the Kremlin has requested that Ukraine affirm itself as a neutral country that will never participate in the US-led NATO military alliance.

Kyiv maintains that the Russian offensive was unprovoked and denies that it meant to retake the two republics by force.

Washington stated Anatoly Antonov had violated international law by adding helicopters to the military aid for Ukraine; Relations are degrading between the US and Russia.
