‘Glee’ Season 5 Spoilers: Will One Direction Play Students at William McKinley High?

Will Gleeks get to see the British boy band One Direction on an upcoming episode of "Glee?" According to the Daily Star (via International Business Times), Matthew Morrison (who plays Will Schuester) would love it if Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan landed guest roles on the show.

"We have been so fortunate to have some great cameos, and to have One Direction would be great for the show. They are not much older than High School age so we could have them as students," he said. "And I'm sure the younger female cast members of the show would not object to their presence either."

"I remember when the show covered 'What Makes You Beautiful' I had only just heard of One Direction. But since then they have pretty much gone on to take over the world," he added.

Morrison also told the newspaper that both he and Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) want One Direction to bring their manager, Simon Cowell, along too. Maybe the "X factor" judge could be talked into appearing on the show alongside the "Midnight Memories" singers.

"Both me and Jane Lynch's dream cameo is Simon Cowell," he said. "It would make great TV seeing Sue Sylvester and Simon Cowell go head to head."

It was previously reported that remaining episodes of Season 5 would be moved to New York. Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly revealed that some of the students on the show would be graduating and moving on while others will make the switch to the Big Apple.

"It would be ridiculous that everybody moves to New York," he said during a press tour, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "There will be some that will graduate and move on and they'll arc back in when we do special episodes."

He also confirmed that the sixth season will be the show's last but said showrunner Ryan Murphy had "some fantastic ideas on what we're going to do next year for the final year."
