US President Joe Biden promised a $1 billion arms package for Kyiv that would include heavy weapons, with munitions and advanced missiles requested by the Ukrainians getting pummeled.

The security assistance package came after the US president spoke to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on the phone.

US Sends More Arms to Ukraine

Biden told Zelensky the assistance package would include the items that Ukraine needed to boost defensive operations in the Donbas, according to the White House, RT reported.

They discussed the meeting with the Brussels contact group with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to deal with support for Ukrainian forces.

For the first time, it is not just weapons that are needed, but also $225 million in humanitarian aid, including safe drinking water, critical medical supplies and healthcare, food, shelter, and cash for families to buy necessities, cited Hi India.

On Tuesday, the Pentagon's undersecretary for policy Colin Kahl revealed why Biden did not disclose specifics about the equipment sent from the UK and US, which will include guided missiles with a 70km.

Before this, the HIMARS launchers will come with ammunition with promises not to attack Russian territory.

According to Kahl, the Biden administration originally gave Ukraine over $5.3 billion in military assistance, with $4.6 billion coming as of February 24. On top of such figures, the $1 billion was confirmed on Wednesday.

A scheduled meeting of NATO leaders in Madrid had the military block sending more heavy arms to the losing Ukrainian force, with the Ukraine regime having a tenuous hold onto power and needing the $1 billion arms package from the US.

Last Tuesday, Ukrainian forces attacked a village in Russia's Bryansk Region, killing six civilians. Zelensky's forces also bombarded Donetsk city in the People's Republic, the worst assault since 2015.

US Proposes Another Security Alliance

Washington is interested in supporting another alternative security alliance with the UK, Ukraine, Poland with the Baltic States, said the US envoy to NATO, noted Jellyfish News.

Julianne Smith, US Permanent Representative to NATO, mentioned last Tuesday that the White House is in on the proposal.

During a visit to Ukraine in early April, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson raised the idea of a European Commonwealth to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reported Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper, mentioned Life News.

Based on the source, Johnson envisions the bloc to be vastly different as a political, economic, and military bloc that will exist alongside the European Union. He added that having the UK, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, or even Turkey at later stage differences with Brussels is the basis for the organization.

Another reason is Germany's slow response to Russia while the forces of Ukraine are losing ground fast and getting kicked out of a former stronghold like Mariupol. Most urgent is the alleged threat posed by Moscow to security, said the outlet.

In the brief last Tuesday, the US envoy asked if Boris Johnson could see the proposed European commonwealth as reality. She answered that it would be okay and help NATO corner Russia on the eastern flank, which the military bloc wants to achieve.
