Ghislaine Maxwell is attempting to prevent Sarah Ransome, a victim of pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, from testifying against her during the heiress' sentence hearing next week.

Lawyers for Maxwell, 60, are attempting to prevent Ransome from providing a victim impact statement in a Manhattan court on Tuesday, when a judge will decide the length of Maxwell's sex-trafficking prison sentence, which the prosecution is seeking to be 20 years.

Jeffey Epstein's Victim Wants To Testify in Court

According to Maxwell's legal team, the claimed sexual assault suffered by Ransome occurred outside of the time range for charges addressed by the trial. In December, Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice, was convicted on five of six charges, including sex trafficking of a juvenile - the youngest victim was a 14-year-old female - and conveying a minor with the purpose to engage in unlawful sexual behavior.

Since July 2020, the humiliated socialite has been detained in solitary confinement at Brooklyn's Metropolitan jail center, where guards warned her that there was worry she may be shot by a sniper. Ransome hopes to attend in court with another claimed Epstein victim, Elizabeth Stein, to face US District Judge Alison Nathan when she sentences Maxwell on five counts of sex trafficking women and young girls for Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

Maxwell's attorneys aim to exclude Ransome's testimony by relying on this technicality. Stein's claimed abuse occurred in 1994, thus her evidence is not admissible in this defense. She claims Epstein sexually raped her on his private Virgin Island in 2006, and that Maxwell was completely involved. Her charges include not just knowing about the assault, but intentionally bringing her to Epstein to be raped, according to Daily Mail.

Ghislaine Maxwell Tries To Lower Sentence

She did so in a desperate appeal for compassion two weeks before her sentencing in a New York court, attempting to persuade US District Judge Alison Nathan that a difficult, traumatic background made her susceptible to abuse by Jeffrey Epstein. Ghislaine, 60, wrote frankly about her father for the first time, painting a portrait of a tough and sometimes tumultuous relationship marked by emotional and physical violence.

She has always been characterized as her father's favorite child, despite being the youngest of nine siblings. Robert Maxwell even called his boat the Lady Ghislaine, off which he died tragically in 1991. Ghislaine was hardly given a glance as a toddler, according to the account given to the Manhattan federal court, because her mother Elizabeth was grieving after her elder brother Michael was seriously injured in a car accident days after Ghislaine's birth, and her father was chronically unable to show affection, as per The Telegraph via MSN.

Ghislaine Maxwell attempted to exploit her ties to Bill Clinton to win herself a reduced sentence for trafficking young girls for Jeffrey Epstein. The disgraced socialite used her work for the former President's humanitarian projects three times as she pleaded for only four years in prison during her June 28th sentence.

She claimed that her participation in the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) reflected her desire to do good in the world Maxwell, 60, will be sentenced next Monday after being convicted of trafficking and sexually assaulting minor girls last December. She asked for merely four years and three months in jail when she was sentenced later this month, alleging she is being threatened with death in prison. She also said that guards at the prison where she is being held informed her that "there was a risk she might be shot by a sniper, Daily Mail reported.
