The European Union has transformed from a diplomacy-centered bloc forced by the Biden administration to start an economic war targeting the Russian economy.
A report by German outlet Spiegel says the EU dropped its initial posture of not assisting Ukraine by giving weapons.
Later announcement from Brussels morphed into rallying cries to defeat Russia on the battlefield, no more diplomatic means to diffuse the conflict.
Brussels Caves In to US Pressure
Its image as a non-militant bloc is gone after it allowed Washington to do what it wanted. The group allowed sanctions because they did not like the US to sanction them.
It gets worse as penalizing Russia for its assaulting the allegedly Nazi forces is an attempt to gain more territory and power, reported RT.
NATO and the EU were poking the bear, and now they have problems like energy and food insecurity because they listened to the US administration. An account of how EU sanctions were hostile to Moscow and their statements confrontational for the Kremlin to hear.
The outlet called Bjoern Seibert the leader of the 'economic warriors,' who planned the effort to sanction after getting a push from the Biden administration. But he denied that it was how the bloc works in the June issue of the Speigel magazine.
Siebert is the chief of the cabinet of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen; he is the European Union point man planning sanctions on Russia from November 2021.
The CIA Director William Burns visited Brussels after going to Moscow before Seibert was appointed to the job, noted Hi India.
Brussels Goes With Scheme in Fear of Angering US
According to the outlet, EU heads feared the US could declare sanctions on its own as Russia might occupy Ukraine. They feared the US could arbitrarily penalize European firms and the EU leaders could not do anything. It followed along to appease the Biden administration and its neocons for a unified response.
Seibert and his office, according to the magazine, sought advice from US officials such as Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh.
Having sanctioned Iran, Russia, and Chinese telecom Huawei they advised the EU official that these EU actions for Ukraine are a prepping for going after Beijing, remarked Spiegel.
Furthermore, all of it was done by US and Brussels economic warriors to use against the likes of Vladimir Putin, but it failed miserably and backfired.
US Has Made the EU a Follower
A former economic bloc is now a security alliance that follows the US, with more laws and staff with extras to push the US agenda via the bloc, as remarked by an EU diplomat.
Seibert helped push the economic war influenced by the US to push more EU officials to agree on sanctions. It was supposed to be limited, but Canada wanted to lessen Russian energy, followed by the US adding more sanctions.
Spiegel says Moscow has countered the European Union-backed by the Biden administration by adopting measures to lessen the impact of sanctions.
This includes records profits in oil and the US losing support from many nations rendering the economic war pointless with rising inflation and energy crisis on the perpetrators.
