European Union Approves 5th Tranche of Military Aid for Ukraine Reaching €2.5 Billion in Total Assistance

Despite Ukrainian losses, the European Union approves €2.5 billion in military assistance for Kyiv. Brussels decided on Monday to provide Ukraine with an additional 500 million euros in military aid.

The EU's aid to Kyiv has now reached €2.5 billion, according to the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, following a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

EU Assistance Prolongs the Conflict in Ukraine

He stated on Twitter that the money is being disbursed through the European Peace Facility (EPF), a funding structure established in 2021 to strengthen the EU's ability to act as a global security provider, reported RT.

The EPF reimburses states for military equipment provided to Kyiv, including guns. He added that the bloc supports the Ukraine Armed Forces with the new military aid package. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry praised the announcement, calling it a significant step towards strengthening European security.

Bloomberg reported ahead of Monday's ministerial conference that the EPF has a €6 billion cap and is intended to help Ukraine and other countries, noted Azerbaycan 24.

According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the issue, the EU must decide how to continue assisting Kyiv through this mechanism during the summer.

Russia has consistently advised the EU, the US, the UK, and their allies against arming Kyiv, arguing that they contribute to perpetuating the dispute longer.

According to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, the EU has become a NATO lackey through its economic relations department.

According to Josep Borrell of the European Union, the US and its allies should defeat Russia, but instead, it is the EU and US proxy Kyiv that is losing equipment and soldiers.

Kremlin Orders Destruction of Advanced Foreign Weapons

Russian forces have declared open season on the HIMARS and other US weaponry, allegedly wrecking and killing forces operating it.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has instructed military commanders in the East, grouping Donbass to emphasize Ukraine's long-range weapons. He ordered it while inspecting soldiers deployed around Donetsk, the capital of the Donetsk People's Republic, Reuters said.

According to a statement released by the Defense Ministry on Monday, he ordered orders to prioritize targeting Ukrainian missile and artillery weapons since Kyiv uses them to target residential areas in Donbass and set fire to grain warehouses and wheat fields.

According to the minister, Ukraine's long-range artillery comprises Soviet-designed systems and US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, French CAESAR self-propelled howitzers, and other foreign weaponry must be struck with high-precision munitions.

The People's Republic of Donetsk asserted last Monday that Ukrainian forces had shelled its territory 53 times in the previous 24 hours, launching more than 660 rounds.

According to the ministry, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, the commander of the East unit, briefed Shoigu on the situation at hand and the advancements made in carrying out the prescribed combat duties of eradicating the adversarial forces.

The Defense Ministry made the first public announcement of Shoigu's surprise tour of the Russian soldiers in Donbass on Sunday, claiming that the minister had inspected the "South" and "Center" units and met with their commanders, Army General Sergey Surovikin and Colonel General Alexander Lapin.

European Union sends its military assistance worth €2.5 billion to Kyiv, which is now under suspicion about where the weapons go.
