Based on a source, the federal investigation into Hunter Biden and his financial troubles has reached a critical stage, with investigators considering whether to prosecute President Biden's son with multiple tax breaches, suspected foreign lobbying violations, and other offenses.
Since 2018, Hunter Biden has been the subject of a federal investigation. According to a Fox News, the federal grand jury investigating Hunter Biden's financial operations completed its latest term late last month, but no charges were filed.
Hunter Biden Probe Reaches "Critical juncture"
Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, a prosecutor nominated by former President Donald Trump, is leading the inquiry. Weiss and Justice Department officials were considering charging Hunter Biden with multiple tax breaches and, more dangerously, possibly foreign lobbying laws. According to the source, Hunter Biden might face accusations of making false statements.
However, the source stated that no final decision on whether to prosecute Hunter Biden has been made and that the investigation is ongoing. Hunter Biden was named as a subject/target of a grand jury inquiry by Fox News in December 2020. A target is someone who has a high likelihood of committing a crime, but a subject is someone who you don't know for sure has done a crime.
Questionable Activity Reports (SARs) detailing suspicious overseas transactions aided the FBI investigation against Hunter Biden. In December 2020, another individual close to the inquiry informed Fox News that the SARs concerned with monies from China and other foreign governments.

GOP Urges To Know if Joe Biden Knows Son's Foreign Dealings
Concerns have also been raised concerning DOJ standards that advise against updating significant, politically sensitive cases so close to the election. No decision has been taken, even though the Democrats and the White House are polling poorly.
It piles further pressure on the Bidens, with Republicans already indicating Hunter will be the subject of congressional probes if Republicans regain the House. The Republicans want to know if the president was aware of his son's international business connections, despite his repeated denials.
Hunter would have been barred from purchasing a firearm at the time due to his well-documented difficulties with drug addiction. The FBI and the IRS's criminal division have been involved in taking the investigations forward, and there have also been conversations about whether his prior drug misuse may damage their case, according to CNN.
Hunter may argue that he was high on drugs and wasn't aware of his behavior. Earlier this summer, DailyMail.com released a 2018 voicemail recording from junior Biden's hard drive indicating that the president was aware of the transactions.
Joe phoned Hunter on December 12, 2018, after reading a New York Times article concerning Hunter's contacts with the Chinese oil firm CEFC. Files on Hunter's abandoned laptop, which DailyMail.com previously revealed, suggest that he signed a deal with the Chinese corporation for millions of dollars after bragging about his family ties.
According to a 2018 report, CEFC chairman Ye Jianming was detained in China, and his senior subordinate Patrick Ho was convicted in the US for paying African authorities to assist Iran to avoid oil sanctions. It was discovered that Ye met with Hunter at a Miami hotel in 2017 to explore a 'collaboration to invest in American infrastructure and energy ventures.'
When Ho was detained, he contacted Joe Biden's brother, Jim Biden, who told the newspaper that he thought the call was for Hunter. It was unclear if Hunter Biden struck any commercial transactions with CEFC, not knowing the extent of his contacts with his Chinese business associates at the time. Joe contacted Hunter and left a voicemail after hearing the tale online, as per Daily Mail.
