President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, as we previously reported, acquiring the virus nearly two years after promising that when he became president, the virus would be shut down.
On the campaign path, Biden repeatedly promised to "shut down" the new coronavirus, which was a significant component of his program.
Joe Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19
According to the White House, the president was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Thursday. It also comes one year to the day after Biden stated that the vaccination would protect against COVID-19. Following his diagnosis, the president produced a video in which he stated that his symptoms were minor and that he appreciated Americans' queries and worries about his health, as per Fox News.
A maskless Biden, appearing from the White House's Truman Balcony, said he's doing well and completing a lot of work. While Biden's vaccines should keep him safe from serious sickness, the virus serves as a reminder that the pandemic Biden sought to put behind him is still a reality.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 has infected more than 70% of Americans. Despite the highly transmissible variations that are circulating, COVID Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha believes that not every American will become sick.
As per White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden will continue to work in the White House, where he will isolate until he tests negative. During his confinement, she added, daily reports on Biden's status will be sent. As reported by Jean-Pierre, Biden was last tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday, and the result was negative, according to USA Today.

POTUS Receives Treatment From Top Doctors
President Biden will be treated by a team of top doctors in the White House's state-of-the-art hospital, which even has its operating theater. The 79-year-old has COVID-19 and is being treated in isolation after experiencing lethargy, a dry cough, and a runny nose.
His doctor, who directs the White House Medical Unit, acknowledged that Obama had two doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccination before taking office. President Biden also had a first and second booster shot in September and March, respectively, in the unit's exam room. The hospital is staffed around the clock by roughly 30 people, with physicians available at the President's beck and call.
An exam room containing ICU supplies, including the President's blood, was installed inside the White House's ground floor, just adjacent to the Map Room, which prior presidents used to watch military actions throughout the world. It is also near to a bigger group of offices at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, next to the White House. President Biden's condition will be monitored by the facility's hundreds of staff members, and he has been prescribed Paxlovid.
During his term in the White House in December 2020, former President Obama was photographed obtaining a swine flu vaccination in the center. Despite his isolation, President Biden will continue to work during his treatment, according to the White House.
Despite being in close touch, his wife Jill Biden has been negative, but if she had gotten the virus, the top-of-the-line facilities would also be available to her. During the peak of the pandemic, the White House Unit was in charge of administering COVID-19 testing to White House press corps journalists. Any President who travels on the Boeing 747-200B Air Force One has access to a medical suite that can double as an operating room, and a doctor is always on board.
The remainder of the president's immediate family, in addition to the First Lady, can get care from military experts. Vice President Kamala Harris and White House personnel are also among those granted access to the facilities, Daily Mail reported.
