Shawn Mendes stated Wednesday morning that he will cancel the remainder of his tour to focus on his mental health.
Mendes, 23, stated that after consulting with his team and an amazing set of health specialists, it has become more evident that he has to take the time he has never taken personally to base himself and come back stronger.

The 'Lost in Japan' singer, who said he was upset by the decision, said he wants to resume his tour dates after some much needed time off, but will continue to produce new songs for his fans in the meanwhile.
Mendes' statement comes only a few weeks after he said he was canceling his 'Wonder: The World Tour,' which was set to begin in Portland in June and go through August 2023. Mendes also hinted at his mental health issues in April, telling fans that he was having difficulty communicating the truth about himself, Page Six reported.
Mendes has already spoken out about mental health issues through his music and social media posts. In April, for example, the singer shared his troubles as someone who constantly feels like he's either soaring or drowning on Twitter.
Mendes' 'Wonder' album will be published in December 2020. 'When You're Gone,' his most recent song, was released on March 31. The Wonder global tour officially began on June 27 in Portland, Oregon. All first-hand tickets purchased will be returned at the time of purchase, as per USA Today.
