US political commentator Michael Shannon says the Democratic party is in disarray due to President Joe Biden, which has opened a gap for a Republican wave threatening upsets. This upset will be much felt in November due to the threat of a more active Donald Trump spearheading a red wave.

Democrats Threatened as Biden's Rating Dips

On July 24, during the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit, the former president received the most votes in a straw poll for the 2024 GOP presidential candidacy.

The Washington Post, however, simultaneously ran an opinion piece to deter him at a time when Biden is utterly toxic to many Democrats, reported Sputnik News.

Over 78 percent of young conservative activists in the US who participated in the survey last Sunday said they supported Trump.

Turning Point Action, a 501(c)(4) subsidiary of TPUSA, a nonprofit American organization for conservative ideals, conducted the straw poll. Dropping the bomb shocked already shellacked Dems reeling from awful poll numbers. Conservatives had a surprise from the MAGA leader with many hints of a possible White House bid in 2024, said Fox News sending Dems a clear message.

At the TPUSA Summit, the former president said it was time to do it again. Despite the reveal's enthusiasm, Shannon said it's too soon to say that the GOP will fully back a Trump nomination.

GOP's Chance To Win Fades

One issue is whether the current GOP leadership can ride the red wave and flatten the Democratic party in both chambers via a Republican Tsunami. The US political commentator stated that cultural concerns would be their ace card.

Conservative comb-overs, led by Kevin McCarthy in the House and Mitch McConnell in the Senate, might turn this red wave into a pinkish flood that thwarts and insults the party's populist base.

The ill-performance of Biden has leaked into the gears of the Democratic Party reeling from Afghanistan; the midterm massacre is getting closer. Even as the president denies inflation is strangling Americans, with 29% approval as the worst president to sit in the Oval Office.

Steven Isenberg of The Washington Post said that the Democrats are seeking a competent nominee who is better than their current crop of unlikable candidates,

Others in the party will condemn and campaign against the incumbent president if he does not abandon his ambition to impose himself in 2024. His gaffes are too frequent, pulling the stops to lessen them.

The Democrats are crystallizing against another disaster-laden Biden administration. Shannon sees it as a clear indication that Isenberg's WaPo op-ed is telling the president that he is no longer wanted. The far-left, in particular, is raising daggers against a disastrous occurrence that Democrats cannot allow.

A pro-GOP commentator maintained that the president's decision not to run would not end Democratic bleeding. More importantly, unlike Biden, they cannot be easily removed.

Dems have damned themselves by pushing the Green New Deal, which many Americans despise. Even independents avoid them like lepers. Adding to the red storm in the midterms will be rampant inflation. The progressive agenda will only drive the Dems over cliffs. They gave the GOP a gift in November.
