The funds will offer up to $350 in cash assistance to active participants in Medicaid, SNAP, and/or TANF government benefit programs. This can also include $350 for anybody in the support unit for active enrollees. This aid will assist some of Georgia's most needy residents in dealing with the ongoing economic burden of COVID-19 and inflation.

Georgians must have been registered in one of the aforementioned programs by July 31, 2022, including anybody in the active enrollees' assistance unit, to be eligible. Those who enroll after the cutoff date will not be eligible for cash assistance. Georgia residents who are enrolled in more than one program will get just one cash assistance payment.

DHS will communicate with eligible Georgia residents via the Georgia Gateway site. All possibly eligible Georgians should log onto their Georgia Gateway accounts and double-check their personal information and contact choices. Georgia residents who qualify can contact DHS for more assistance. The funds for this award come from the American Rescue Plan Act's State Fiscal Recovery Fund, as per Grice Connect.

New York Eligible Residents May Receive up to $835 on SNAP Benefits

Meanwhile, Gov. Kathy Hochul stated on Monday that an additional $234 million in federal assistance will be given to all SNAP users for August, according to a press release.

The investment will ensure that all SNAP beneficiaries receive the maximum amount of food assistance. Even those close to or at the maximum benefit level - $835 for a family of four - will get at least $95, according to the announcement.

The state's Temporary and Disability Assistance office, these emergency extra payments have been available since April 2020 for SNAP households receiving less than the maximum monthly benefit amount. Even though the state's emergency designation will expire in June 2021, the agency has been working with the federal government to ensure funds for all SNAP families.

Residents of New York City should expect to get their benefits using their existing Electronic Benefit Transfer cards between August 15 and August 19. New Yorkers living outside the five boroughs should expect to receive their benefits between August 16 and August 29, New York 1 reported.
