Following his catastrophic TV appearance in 2019 in which he attempted to explain his acquaintance with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and rejected the severe claims against him, Prince Andrew's name has been in the news for the past several years.
The woman who accused the Duke of York of sexual assault eventually sued him in court, and Queen Elizabeth II was forced to intervene. The monarch was forced to deprive her son of his military associations and patronages.
Prince Andrew Reportedly Wants To Return to Royal Life
However, after putting her foot down and stepping away from the spotlight, it has been alleged that Prince Andrew wishes to return to royal life and is begging his mother to make it happen. Prince Andrew's destiny, however, is not only in her hands; it is also in the hands of two persons who are completely opposed to the concept.
The revelation that Andrew wants to rejoin the royal family comes while the prince is spending his yearly vacation with his mother in Balmoral in Scotland. The reported stance of the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge against Prince Andrew returning to the royal spotlight in any capacity and trimming down the monarch to exclude non-working royals from having formal roles does not sit well with Prince Andrew's daughter's Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
"Prince William and Charles are doing this for the interest of the monarchy," royal analyst Neil Sean told Express. They are interpreting the popular sentiment, which indicates that Andrew should depart from public life permanently. But Andrew desires a return, which he believes his girls can achieve through philanthropic activity.
The queen, on the other hand, has previously turned down Prince Andrew's desire for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to become working royals, and without Prince Charles and Prince William's support, there doesn't appear to be a way back for Andrew anytime soon, as per Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
Prince Andrew Still Has Personal Protection Officer Despite HRH Title Removal
Prince Andrew's royal career ended in humiliation as he was compelled to pay millions of pounds to his sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre in an out-of-court settlement. She said that in 2001, when she was 17, he sexually molested her three times after being trafficked by pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew's daughters and their families, as well as Prince Edward, his wife Sophie, and their two children, Charles and Camilla, have since paid the Queen a visit in Scotland. It comes after the Metropolitan Police and Home Office stated earlier this month that the prince will continue to have taxpayer-funded round-the-clock police protection following a thorough evaluation of his security.
The evaluation was made public in January when the Queen divested him of his military and charity associations, as well as his HRH title. He eventually agreed to a large financial settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who had filed a court lawsuit against him in the United States.
When Prince Andrew leaves his residence, he will continue to be accompanied by a personal protection officer. Permanent security precautions are in place at the 30-room Royal Lodge on the Queen's Windsor estate. Prince Andrew is no longer involved in formal royal tasks. Aside from horseback riding and regular visits to the Queen, the humiliated prince's present daily activities remain unclear.
The formal royal security provisions for Prince Andrew's children, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, were abolished some years ago, and other non-working royals, such as Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, do not get similar preparations as adults, according to Daily Mail.
