Justin Bieber's string of bad behavior reportedly has his mother, Pattie Mallette, worried he's heading down the wrong path.
According to Access Hollywood, sources close to Bieber's family say Mallette is upset with reports stating she isn't being an attentive parent to her son.
"As any caring mother would be, Pattie is genuinely concerned for Justin and she has said in many interviews before, that she doesn't have her head in the clouds and keeps in very close touch with Justin," the insider told Access Hollywood. "She talks with him almost every day, which is likely more than any mom and a 19-year-old son... and she is in the public eye dealing with all of this."
"[Bieber's mother] is an amazing success story which you don't hear people referring to or talking about," the source added. "If they could, they would see what this situation could turn into for this young man who is dealing with some major life issues right now... instead, they would be encouraging the whole family, instead of tearing them down and looking for them all to fall, blame and focus on the negative."
According to Access Hollywood' insider, Bieber's mom knows he will get through the rough patches and come out on top. However, the rumor mills continue to spin out stories about Bieber's troubled relationships.
HollywoodLife.com reports former flame Selena Gomez is concerned Bieber was sleeping around without using protection,
"Selena has had issues with anxiety for a while," a source told Hollywood Life. "And she's still dealing with them. It started when Justin was cheating on her - one big breaking point was that she thought he gave her an STD and got tested."
However, the source didn't confirm if Bieber did give Gomez a sexually transmitted infection. Gomez recently spent two weeks in rehab in January to deal with her emotional issues.
