Page Six has been informed by numerous sources that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to alter their Netflix docuseries and postpone its broadcast till next year following the passing of the Queen.
As part of their $100 million deal with the streaming service, the Duke, 38, and Duchess, 41, of Sussex, who currently reside in their $14 million Montecito estate with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1-year-old, are working on a documentary.
Sussexes Urge to Edit Netflix Series
After The Crown's fifth season premiered on November 9, it was previously anticipated that the production will air in December. To downplay much of what they have said about King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, insiders allege the couple now wants to make changes to the series, which might push back its publication until later in 2023.
In light of concerns that his final copy may not go down too well in the wake of the Queen's passing, Prince Harry has reportedly undertaken a last-minute effort to soften the blow of his explosive book.
The memoirs had been approved and were scheduled for publishing in the fall, but the Duke, who is authoring the book as part of a contract, has requested some significant changes. His plea might be interpreted as a sign that he is prepared to approach the rest of the Royal Family with greater goodwill, but it could present issues for his publishers.
An advance of seven figures was offered to the Duke, according to publishing sources, so he might have had little wriggle room. The initial manuscript was rejected by publishers Penguin Random House because it was too touchy-feely and focused too much on mental health issues, as per Daily Mail.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle "Worried" to be Edged Out
The memoir's primary focus will be on Prince Harry's tumultuous relationship with his brother, Prince William, who is the heir apparent. Even though they put their conflict on hold at the Queen's burial, it is known that the two don't get along and rarely speak.
It is unclear whether there is a connection between this and the fact that Prince Harry learned about his grandmother's passing online after arriving in Scotland for an unrelated event, rather than through Prince William, according to Marca.
A professional asserts that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are worried about losing their place in the Royal Family. This week, the Duchess of Sussex and the Duke of Sussex were demoted to the bottom of the official royal website, appearing only above Prince Andrew.
Relations within the family have deteriorated ever since they left their positions as senior members of the Firm in March 2020. Following the Queen's passing, the website was modified as King Charles assumed control of his adored mother's responsibilities.
The two had previously had a position halfway down the page of royal profiles, above junior royals and below senior royals. However, following the demotivation, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were moved down the page. As King Charles assigns new positions, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are anticipating whether their kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, will receive the titles of Prince and Princess, Express reported.
