As committee members, guests, and media viewed never-before-seen footage of congressional leaders frantically calling for assistance behind the scenes as an enraged, armed mob destroyed windows and invaded the Capitol on January 6, the hearing room turned silent and still.

According to video of witnesses who testified before the panel earlier this year, Democrats were seen in videos taken by documentarian Alexandra Pelosi, daughter of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, pleading practically with federal officials for assistance as former President Donald Trump watched the violence play out on television.

According to USA Today, congressmen also spoke with the governors of Maryland and Virginia as well as Jeff Rosen, the interim attorney general. On that specific day, the Democratic leader in the House was first hesitant about recognizing Joe Biden's victory.

Pelosi's remarks changed as the situation outside the Capitol and inside its halls worsened. Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, as well as Senators John Thune and Mitch McConnell, appeared with Democrats in the video. Together, they made a call to the Defense department and requested the deployment of troops to the Capitol.

Meanwhile, video that CNN got from Pelosi's daughter depicts the Speaker of the House becoming enraged at Trump's address encouraging his supporters to protest the certification of the 2020 presidential election by marching to the Capitol.

When Pelosi learns that the Secret Service warned Trump not to visit Capitol Hill, an aide informs her that she threatened to punch the former president if he disregarded the advice.

Per Daily Mail, Pelosi added, "If he comes, I'm going to punch him out," while maintaining her composure. " I've been awaiting this. I'm going to punch him out for entering the Capitol grounds without permission. And I'm going to jail, and I'm going to be happy," the speaker added.

The January 6 committee publicly aired portions of the video that CNN presented. However, the complete, uncut video depicts the total chaos that prevailed during the notorious incident that left five people dead as politicians took refuge in Fort McNair.

The majority of the video follows Pelosi's activities on January 6, including a phone call she placed to Mike Pence, who was then vice president, inquiring about his physical safety in the wake of threats to "Hang Mike Pence."

Pelosi advises Pence to remain safe and hidden from the rioters as she talks about pushing through with Joe Biden's certification.

Video Reveals Phone Call Between Pelosi And Schumer

The video also reveals a phone conversation between Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy in response to speculations that the National Guard wouldn't be summoned to quell the riot.

The new video supports the earlier compilations shown on Thursday, in which Pelosi was seen pleading with Virginia Governor Ralph Northam via phone for the backing of the National Guard. The tense hours during which lawmakers hid in secret places as police battled the crowd were seen on camera for the first time.

In another segment of the footage, Pelosi and Schumer can be seen asking Jeff Rosen, Trump's acting attorney general, for assistance. The recordings portray a vivid picture of the politicians' anxiety and uncertainty as well as their drive to resolve the problem, even though it does not much differ from earlier narratives and descriptions of those hours.

At the conclusion of the session, when the panel unanimously voted 9-0 to summon Trump to testify under oath and turn over records pertaining to the Capitol incident, additional, horrifying video emerged. New proof that Trump received drafts of a speech claiming victory on October 31 - four days before the general election on November 3, 2020 - was also supplied by the seven Democrats and two Republicans.

As evidence that Trump was going to declare victory even if he was losing and as evidence that he was aware of his defeat but persisted in his accusations of electoral fraud, they also released recent videos and testimony.
