Five of the six persons who were slain in a Virginia Walmart on Tuesday night after the manager opened fire before taking his own life have been named by authorities.
According to a press release issued by the City of Chesapeake on Wednesday, five of the deceased victims have been named as Lorenzo Gamble, Brian Pendleton, Kellie Pyle, Randall Blevins, and Tyneka Johnson.
Virginia Walmart Shooting Suspect
A 16-year-old boy was the sixth fatality, but because to his age, police are not releasing his name, according to the city. Andre Bing, 31, was named as the shooter earlier on Wednesday by the city, which said that he was "equipped with one handgun and had many magazines on his person."
Bing has worked for Walmart since 2010, the firm stated in a statement, and was a "overnight team lead." Police said that the investigators were examining the shooter's past to learn more about potential motives. The incident is yet another mass shooting in an area that is typically thought to be safe, such as a school, hospital, or retail establishment.
A 22-year-old University of Virginia student in Charlottesville is accused of opening fire on classmates this month, killing three of them as the bus was returning to campus after a field trip to Washington, DC, about 170 miles west of Chesapeake.
Five people were shot and died last weekend at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs while 19 others were injured, according to officials. The Gun Violence Archive reports that there have been more than 600 mass shootings in the US so far this year.
According to the non-profit and CNN, a mass shooting occurs when four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter. James Credle, a former nightly stocker at the store, told the Mirror that the shooter had introduced him to the Yellow Edition of Red Bull and that they had shared shifts drinking it.
Credle claimed that, despite how challenging Bing may be as a manager, he didn't personally have an issue with him and would never have anticipated him to act in the manner that he did. Before moving to the staff break room and then the food department, Bing allegedly shot a woman in the head in the parking lot outside the business at Sam's Circle.

Walmart Esteblishes Resource Center Following the Shooting
According to Chesapeake Police spokesperson Leo Kosinski, authorities discovered many dead and injured persons inside the business over the course of 35 to 40 minutes. He said that they assembled rescue and tactical teams to enter and give life-saving assistance.
The reason behind the incident is still unknown, however survivors have reported that the 31-year-old manager had "problems" with other employees before the shooting spree. Per The Independent, following the tragedy in Chesapeake on Tuesday night, Walmart has established an associate resource center for Walmart colleagues and their families. Right now, the business is closed.
On Wednesdays, the facility is open until 7 p.m. at the Springhill Suites, 1446 Crossways Boulevard. The Walmart associate resource center will relocate to the Delta Hotel by Marriott at 725 Woodlake Drive starting tomorrow and will remain there for the following two weeks to provide assistance to Walmart workers and their families with counseling, meals, and a space to interact with one another.
Associates should speak with their supervisor if they have any more inquiries. Families in need can go to the Walmart associate resource center as the family reunification service at the Chesapeake Conference Center has been closed.
