Police say that after two weeks on the run, a Connecticut man accused of killing and dismembering his 11-month-old daughter was apprehended on Friday.

The 31-year-old Christopher Francisquini was apprehended by Waterbury Police on Friday. He is accused of killing his infant daughter Camilla on November 18 in their Naugatuck home.

His bond was set at $5 million since he is accused of murder with aggravating circumstances and endangering a youngster. Camilla was strangled, stabbed, and dismembered inside the house, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.

Police reported that the abandoned vehicle was later discovered on Interstate 91. An acquaintance of Camilla's found her body. Injuries to her neck and stab wounds were found to be the cause of death.

Francisquini is captured on camera at a bus stop while being encircled by around a dozen police officers, all of whom have their weapons drawn. He is commanded to get to the ground by the police. He obeys the command before being surrounded and handcuffed.

Police claimed that an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen led to the arrest. Francisquini had altered his look, but the caller assured authorities that he could still be identified. In honor of Camilla's first birthday, which would have been on Saturday, the Naugatuck police have asked that everyone wear pink to the town's tree-lighting ceremony, as per Fox News.

Francisquini has a significant criminal record, including convictions for carjacking, assault, and other offenses. When he allegedly killed his daughter, he reportedly ripped off his GPS ankle bracelet before running away since he was on parole for an assault charge from 2012, according to the New York Daily News.

Police claimed Francisquini suffocated Camila before stabbing and mutilating her. He allegedly got into a battle with her mother after the murder, who was not informed Camila had died, according to investigators. Cops placed Francisquini in handcuffs after he complied. The $10,000 reward for information leading to his capture was raised from the initial posting to a total of $25,000 before his arrest.

Francisquini's sighting was reported, according to the police, using the department's anonymous tip line. In a statement, the Naugatuck Police Department noted that Francisquini's arrest is a clear example of what can be accomplished when community members collaborate with law enforcement to remove dangerous individuals off the street. On Saturday, Camilla would have turned one.

The bracelets, which have the phrase Justice for Camilla and the dates of her birth and death, are not currently on the market, according to the police. The agency has placed another order, and when it arrives, it will let the public know.

Monday morning, as per McAllister, Francisquini is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court. According to McAllister, there may be more accusations made and arrests made about the homicide.

We will continue to look into this case as it relates to his travels and whereabouts over the past two weeks,' added McAllister. Therefore, if it can be proven that someone was supporting or assisting him, it can't be ruled out that there may be more arrests, Daily Mail reported.
