Leopards in India Are Getting Bold
According to sources, the Forest Department says that only one animal has gotten the habit of hunting people and has killed these five people. Many believe that more than one animal is making all the killing of late.
Most wildlife experts have thought the spate of these big cats hunting and killing humans is a grave concern. Typically these predators stay away from human habitations and hunt other animals for their prey.
One of the reasons for such a shift in big cat behavior is an imbalance in the habitat and food sources which affects them. Details were given to IANS by the Garhwa Southern Forest Division officer Shashi Kumar; he added that it's just one leopard in the area which has been going to villages to attack people. He gave the information. Kumar also remarked that they would start a search to tranquilize the big cat and capture it.
Details were released that the Hyderabad-based wildlife expert and shooter Nawab Shafat Ali Khan, with his son Haider Ali Khan, and Telangana-based shooter Sampath were engaged in patrolling where the animals were last spotted.
Indicated that shooting the animal dead is the last option but trapping it is the objective of the hunt for the man-killing leopard. About 50 to 60 cameras were spread out to see where the beast would be next. A total of 50 to 60 forest workers are involved in the search for the elusive animal.
Trappers have set four cages where the big cat would probably go. Traps in other places weren't able to catch the animal too.
