One of the intelligence officers who signed a letter in 2020 casting doubt on the veracity of the Hunter Biden laptop story now admits he knew significant portions of it had to be true.

Douglas Wise, the former deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, was one of the 51 former senior intelligence officers who signed the letter expressing "strong suspicion" that the laptop story was connected to Russian misinformation.

A significant portion of the original story's information has now been confirmed by other media sites. Wise told the Australian almost two years after signing the letter, "We all agreed that a substantial amount of that stuff had to be genuine for any Russian misinformation to be credible."

Former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper also signed the open letter. The letter was sent amid heightened concerns about Russian interference in the race, as per The Washington Examiner.

Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms made measures to suppress the October 2020 New York Post article on the laptop. The officers relied on their credentials to claim that "our experience makes us quite suspicious that the Russian government had a major role in this case."

President Joe Biden used the letter to deflect Republican criticism of the Biden family's international business connections, which the alleged laptop hard drive allegedly revealed. The initial denial of the laptop story by Big Tech has become a conservative rallying cry. The House Republicans intend to examine the laptop and subpoena the veterans of the intelligence community who supported the letter.

Wise also said that he had no remorse about signing the letter since "Russians or even ill-intentioned conservative groups may have inserted information in there."

Numerous media sites received copies of the laptop, which contained information regarding the younger Biden's personal life, financial affairs, and his father's role. Hunter Biden is now the subject of a federal investigation for allegedly making false statements on a federal form while acquiring a handgun and for probable tax fraud. It is possible that charges against him are imminent.

The letter was sent five days after the New York Post first reported on the contents of the laptop, which included explicit photos documenting Hunter Biden's drug-fueled benders, details of his shady international business dealings, and emails in which Hunter appeared to be selling access to his then-vice president father.

The letter also mentions "our belief that the Russians were engaged in the Hunter Biden email scandal" and ends, "it is time for Russia to stop interfering with our democracy." Initially, the laptop bombshell was confined on networks such as Twitter and Facebook. Elon Musk's release of the Twitter Files revealed details of their intention to censor material that may be damaging to Joe Biden soon before the election.

Wise's remarks come as Republicans in the House target the Biden family. Last Monday, the House Oversight Committee initiated an inquiry into the the Biden family's business dealings and Joe's involvement in Hunter's work, according to Daily Mail.

In addition, Republicans formed the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is anticipated to investigate accusations that the FBI slowed down its investigation into the laptop's contents and forced Twitter to conceal the story.

Conspiracies About Hunter Biden's Apartment Rent

Meanwhile, some conservatives believe that recently uncovered confidential records in President Joe Biden's Delaware house contain details about Hunter Biden's hefty monthly rent payments.

A second batch of classified documents "locked" in the garage of the president's home in Wilmington has prompted backlash from both Republicans and Democrats, following the discovery of a first batch of classified documents in a Pennsylvania office prior to the midterm elections, which were transferred to the National Archives without delay.

Monday, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson examined the possible relationship between a background check form for Hunter Biden and his intended to rent a California house. The background check document, which was shared on social media, indicates that the monthly rent for an unidentified home is $49,910.

Another Twitter user questioned why Joe Biden's 2017 tax returns did not include the roughly $50,000 in rent payments recorded under Hunter Biden's name, as revealed by the background check. In a letter to the White House counsel, James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, confirmed that the location on Hunter Biden's driver's license matches the place where the sensitive materials were recovered.

Tuesday, former President Donald Trump referred to the apparent connection between the papers and Hunter Biden's rent payments as "one of the biggest political and money laundering Scams in history."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo that Congress has a constitutionally mandated duty to independently monitor all areas of the Justice Department, including special counsels. McCarthy questioned why the Mar-a-Lago property of Donald Trump was "raided" when the residence of President Joe Biden was not.

According to the Twitter account of the Republican House Judiciary Committee, Republican Representative Jim Jordan addressed letters on Tuesday to numerous Biden administration officials "renewing pending requests for conversations and records."

Paul Gosar, a representative from Arizona, described the uncovered documents as "stealing" on the part of the president, "as well as the corruption of accepting Ukrainian bribes thinly disguised as "rent" payments." Joe Biden has been asked to resign by Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has previously declared her plan to impeach the president.

Attorney Andrew Lieb told Newsweek that Biden's classified documents are part of "perhaps the greatest political disaster Biden could have concocted, given that it has revived Trump in politics," but he considers it "a non-issue" from a criminal standpoint.
