The number of mass shootings in the United States already exceeded 30, which is more than the number of days in 2023.
Gun Violence Archive (GVA) reported that there have been at least 36 US mass shootings by the 23rd day of the year, with over 50 deaths and 150 injuries, as per CNN.
The majority of mass shootings occur in the United States. Although they are sometimes combined into a single category, they fall under a variety of categories, with the main criterion being that at least four victims were shot and either wounded or killed, excluding any shooters who may also have been hurt or slain, according to GVA.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator in Saturday's Lunar New Year shooting that killed 10 and wounded 10 has been identified by California police.

The US Mass shootings supect was identified many hours after he shot and killed himself in a white vehicle in Torrance, some 30 minutes away from the shooting scene in Monterey Park. Authorities stated it was the suspect's getaway vehicle from Saturday's Lunar New Year shooting, per Fox News.
Earlier on Sunday, law enforcement officers encircled the van with bomb squad trucks and tactical vehicles. Luna said a weapon and other evidence linked the suspect to the crime scene were recovered in the vehicle.
Police Says There's No More Threat
Authorities declared that there are "no longer" any threats to the neighborhood and no further suspects are at large. However, police have not revealed a motive, stating the Lunar New Year shooting investigation is ongoing.
Seven individuals are still in the hospital, Luna added. He estimated the victims' ages as above 50.
The Lunar New Year shooting happened at Star Ballroom Dance Studio, a few streets from city hall on Monterey Park's major artery, Garvey Avenue, as per an earlier HNGN report.
