The latest events in the NBA trade deadline period send basketball fans crazy with superstars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook transferring teams.
The Phoenix Suns will acquire Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, four first-round selections, and additional draft consideration, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported.
Moreover, Suns forward Jae Crowder would also be sent to the Nets as part of the KD to Suns deal.
According to a tweet by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal includes Nets forward TJ Warren and a 2028 first-round draft pick.
One insider informed Wojnarowski that part of the KD to Suns transaction, the Brooklyn Nets will obtain unprotected first-round picks in 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029.
Westbrook Moves to Utah; D'Angelo Russell Returns to LA
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly acquired guard D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a three-team, eight-player deal that sent superstar guard Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz.
The individual spoke on the condition of anonymity since the clubs had not announced the Westbrook trade in public before Thursday's NBA trade deadline, according to a report from AP cited by the NBA.
The Lakers also acquired guard Malik Beasley and forward Jarred Vanderbilt from the Jazz to strengthen their team around LeBron James.
Along with the Westbrook trade, the Lakers are also sending Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones, and their first-round selection from the 2027 draft to Utah, according to an ESPN report.
Sources also said that Mike Conley, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and three second-round choices will be traded from Utah to Minnesota.
