Michael Jordan will donate $10 million to Make-A-Wish America on his 60th birthday, February 17. The amount is the single largest gift in the institution's 43-year existence.
Since fulfilling his first wish in 1989, the six-time NBA champion and 14-time All-Star has been a strong supporter of Make-A-Wish, according to CNN.
Michael Jordan Make A Wish have been partners for the last 34 years and the basketball legend sees it as a privilege since that allowed him to grant the wishes of so many children.
"Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration," Jordan remarked in a press release, noting that the best birthday present he could receive is to support Make-A-Wish to grant the wishes of every kid who needs it.

In 2008, Make-A-Wish made Michael Jordan, who is considered among the greatest basketball players ever, its ambassador.
Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, believes the public will be inspired to grant wishes in honor of the Charlotte Hornets owner, per CBS Sports.
Before retiring for good in 2003, Michael Jordan had played in the NBA for 15 years, during which time he had amassed a record six championships and five MVP trophies.
He has contributed millions to charity and has lucrative endorsement relationships with Nike, Hanes, Gatorade, and Upper Deck.
In 2022, Michael Jordan made more than four times his NBA career salary via a licensing deal, per a previous HNGN report.
During the fiscal year 2022, Jordan Brand generated $5.1 billion in revenue for Nike, and Michael Jordan is supposedly entitled to 5% of that sum.
