Philip Seymour Hoffman Dead: 'Hunger Games' Actor Dying Wish Was For His Children To Stay Away From Los Angeles, Grow Up In NYC

Philip Seymour Hoffman's will revealed his last wishes for his children and family.

According to The New York Daily News, the majority of the actor's estate was left to his longtime girlfriend Mimi O'Donnell and their children. The will was drafted in 2004 when Hoffman's only child was his oldest son, 10-year-old Cooper.

However, the actor made it clear where he wanted Cooper to live his life as a child, and Los Angeles, Calif. was nowhere on his list.

"It is my strong desire ... that my son Cooper Hoffman, be raised and reside in or near the borough of Manhattan," Hoffman stated in his will, the Daily News reports.

Hoffman wished his kids would be surrounded by culture, art and the history found in New York City.

"If NYC turned out to be impossible, Hoffman asked for his son to be raised in Chicago or San Francisco," TMZ reports. "And if that didn't work out either, Hoffman wanted his son to visit these cities at least TWICE per year for cultural purposes. The glaring omission on his list is obviously Los Angeles -- interesting because Hoffman was a big time Hollywood actor who spent lots of time in L.A."

Hoffman left behind three children: 10-year-old son Cooper, 7-year-old daughter Tallulah and 5-year-old daughter Willa. On Feb. 2, the actor reportedly died of a drug overdose in his West Village apartment. Hoffman was just 46-years-old when he passed away.

Hoffman was laid to rest on Feb. 7 in NYC where many of his friends and family were in attendance. His children were photographed visible shaken by the loss of their father.

"Other famous attendees also found it difficult to contain their feelings -- Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Williams left together, both wearing dark sunglasses. Michelle held her hand over her mouth," TMZ reports.
