Prince Harry is said to be "desperate" to return to the United Kingdom for his father, King Charles III's, coronation next month.

The Duke of Sussex, who returned last month to attend his court battle against Associated Newspapers, has not seen his father or brother, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, since the week of the late Queen's funeral last September, according to reports.

Prince Harry Feels 'Homesick'

When the Royal Family grew apart, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, released their scathing documentary series on Netflix. The Duke's memoir Spare was released in January, and tensions amongst the group allegedly deteriorated further, as per OK!.

Yet, Prince Harry, who allegedly requested that his father approach him "personally" with an invitation to the coronation, has been "homesick" and is keen to reunite with his family.

Final preparations are being made as King Charles III's coronation approaches. The Duke of Sussex will even fly back from his California residence to participate in the historic occasion. There was significant speculation over whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would attend the dinner after they missed the RSVP deadline in early April.

The journey will now be made by Prince Harry alone, with the Duchess of Sussex remaining in California with Archie and Lilibet. It has now been revealed that Prince Harry attempted to call King Charles many times to discuss preparations. Yet the new King was so preoccupied that he only had time for one discussion.

But having had Frogmore Cottage taken away, Prince Harry is said to miss parts of British living and may be eager to spend more time here.

"Harry was desperate to come back for the Coronation and spend quality time with his family," a source told The Sun.

Prince Harry will not be in the ceremonial parade routes or on the balcony since he is no longer a working royal. He will, however, be in Westminster Abbey on May 6 for the coronation. According to sources, there is a "willingness" and "wanting to heal on all sides."

Prince Harry's earliest efforts to interact more with King Charles followed the backlash from his contentious book, Spare, in which he was critical of Queen Consort Camilla. It's said that this was viewed as a "red line" that Prince Harry should never have crossed, with some suspecting that it was the cause of the lack of contact between the King and Prince Harry.

Prince William Not Ready to Talk to Prince Harry

Nonetheless, royal insiders say Prince Harry wants to spend quality time with his family while he is here, no matter how brief his stay. In a January interview with ITV's Tom Bradby to promote Spare, Prince Harry stated, "I want a family, not an institution."

Per Mirror, he also wants his father and brother's "return." With only a few months till the ceremony, the future of Prince Harry's relationship with his family might be revealed shortly. Meanwhile, a source said, "William is still upset with Harry's book." Prince William reportedly considers it a betrayal, and he has no desire to discuss their differences with Prince Harry before the coronation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have addressed public family tensions several times, most notably in their Netflix docuseries, 'Harry & Meghan,' which premiered in December 2022, and in Harry's tell-all book. A royal insider tells ET that "that's just not likely to happen" before the coronation. Buckingham Palace revealed earlier this month that Prince Harry would attend the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey without his wife on May 6.

The Palace highlighted in the statement that May 6 is also the fourth birthday of the couple's son Archie. The coronation of King Charles III will take place on May 6, formalizing his function as the head of the Church of England and marking the transfer of his title and powers.

That is the formal moment when he is anointed King. King Charles will be crowned with the 17th-century Saint Edward's Crown, which weighs approximately 5 pounds and includes a solid gold frame and 444 stones.

Camilla Parker Bowles, his wife, will also be anointed and proclaimed Queen Consort. Camilla will be the first divorcee to be crowned, and the coronation invitation, which was posted in April, made headlines for the first time, referring to her as Queen Camilla. She had previously been referred to as queen consort.
