"Black Mirror" is coming back. Its season 6 teaser confirms its upcoming release date and some of the hit Netflix dystopian series cast members.
After three years of hiatus, the giant streamer is back at it again, confirming that the dystopian show returns this 2023. It has confirmed the release date and cast members, which includes "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul and more.
'Black Mirror' Season 6 Cast Revealed
As per a report by Variety, Netflix, which brought us popular shows like "Squid Game" and "Stranger Things," confirmed that "Black Mirror" is ending its long hiatus. And this time, it vows to flaunt a list of top-notch actors and actresses.
The fans of the disturbing dystopian series have been waiting for season 6 to arrive for roughly three years now. Its last season saw the light of day on the giant streaming service in 2019. Since then, avid viewers of the show have patiently anticipated the release of new episodes.
Variety notes that season 6 plans to set itself apart from the previous iterations of the dysfunctional Netflix show. Noticeably, the upcoming "Black Mirror" season flaunts a more keen focus on its cinematic scope. Not to mention that the violence is set to be on the next level compared to the previous five seasons.
As for the cast of the upcoming "Black Mirror" season, it features familiar faces, such as Ben Barnes of "Shadow and Bone" and the "Station Eleven" star Himesh Patel. According to Engadget, "Schitt's Creek" actress Annie Murphy" also joins the cast.
Besides them, Kate Mara, known for her role in Netflix's "House of Cards," is also part of the new "Black Mirror" season. "Black Hawk Down" actor Josh Hartnett and "Columbus" star also join her.
The list of cast members goes on, including Paapa Essiedu, Rory Culkin, and Samuel Blenkin. Variety notes that Myha'la Herrold and Zazie Beetz are also gracing the dystopian show.
Meanwhile, the Bisha K. Ali of "Ms. Marvel" is one of the executive producers of the upcoming Netflix series. The new season will be the first show Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones's production firm, aptly named "Broke & Bones," will ever produce. Jessica Rhoades is among the executive producers of the new iteration of "Black Mirror."
When is the Season 6 Release Date?
On top of that long list of cast members, Netflix formally confirmed the release date of the upcoming "Black Mirror" season.
USA Today reports that the giant streamer announced its hit sci-fi dystopian series is making its much-awaited comeback in June.
The show's creator touts it as "the most unpredictable season yet" once it debuts on Netflix in June 2023. Watch its first teaser below.
