Don Lemon revealed his plans after CNN "fired" him in a recent interview during his red-carpet appearance at the Time 100 Gala in New York City.
CNN announced their long-time host, Lemon, and the network parted ways. Meanwhile, the 57-year-old personality took to Twitter to reveal that the news channel has "terminated" him.
Don Lemon's Plans After CNN Firing Revealed
Following the departure of Lemon from his network, he revealed that he is now moving forward from what happened.
According to WSBTV, Lemon gamely answered queries regarding his plans after parting ways with CNN, which he has been with for roughly 17 years. The correspondent of Extra, Tommy DiDario, inquired about what he wanted to do next.
The former CNN host says he looks forward to pursuing his summer plans. Like most people, he plans to beat the heat this season by spending quality time with his loved ones on the beach. Lemon looks forward to soaking up the sun while out on a boat with his family. Sounds like a fun way to spend his post-CNN break.
Lemon also disclosed that he is "excited for the next chapter" following his departure from the cable network.
Is He Transferring to Another Network?
Before joining CNN, Lemon used to work at the local affiliate of NBC in Chicago, wherein he left in 2006. With his sudden departure from his home network of 17 years, some wonder if he will transfer to a new channel anytime soon.
However, the "fired" CNN host says he does not have "to rush to another job." But he admitted that he absolutely "wants another job."
So for now, it is still unclear if Lemon will go to another news network following his departure from his longtime network. While CNN failed to disclose the reason for their parting ways, some speculate that his previous misogynistic comments were at play.
He previously blurted out a sexist remark against Republican presidential aspirant Nikki Haley, which some also found ageist. The ex-CNN host says that the former US ambassador is no longer "in her prime" since she is already 50 years old, adding that the prime age for women is between the 20s to 40s.
Lemon Says He is Not Mad at CNN
Meanwhile, Page Six reports that Lemon says he is not mad after CNN "terminated" him.
The 57-year-old host says in an interview during the Time 100 Gala that it is not his nature to be angry or mad, adding that he is a "resilient person."
His announcement on Twitter notes that he was "stunned" to learn that CNN has unceremoniously terminated him after being a mainstay in the network for 27 years. He raised that "there are some larger issues at play." The network has since denied his accusation, saying they gave him a chance to meet with the top brass of the news channel. But instead, he opted to post his statement on his social media account.
