Taylor Swift's concert delays start time on Sunday night at Nissan Stadium over an extreme weather alert in Nashville.
The concert of the famous pop star is part of her Eras Tour. But due to the weather advisory, fans gearing up for the Nashville concert had to proceed to shelter areas before the performance kicked off.
Taylor Swift's Concert Delayed Due to Severe Weather Warning
As per Entertainment Tonight, Swifties or fans of the singer-songwriter took shelter amid a severe weather alert, delaying the Eras Tour concert in Nashville.
A lightning advisory asked concertgoers to "proceed to the shelter areas," primarily the covered areas in the Nissan Stadium. Meanwhile, the officials in the stadium urged folks still in their cars to take shelter inside their vehicles.
ET Online notes that the weather alert comes an hour before the opening act of the Swift concert took the stage.
Despite the heavy rain and lightning alert, Swift tweeted to her fans that she was ready to hit the stage and get on with her musical performance. The singer says she is "ready to play" despite the "rainy weather vibe" talk.
Billboard reports that the Sunday night event is the last show out of three before Swift graces her fans in Philadelphia the following week.
Concert Resume After Four-Hour Delay
Due to the hours-long delay, some fans worried that tonight's show would be canceled. But despite that, the concert continues.
According to NBC Affiliate WSMV, the Nissan Stadium told Swifties they could return to their seats after roughly three and a half hours of delay. In a recent tweet, the multi-purpose stadium says that the "Shelter in Place" has officially been lifted," telling fans Swift will hit the stage once the production has finished.
Tennessean reports that the National Weather Service lifted the extreme weather advisory at the Nissan Stadium at 9:25 pm. The government agency took to Twitter to announce that the skies are calming down adobe downtown Nashville. It further notes that "there will be showers in the area lasting into the overnight hours, but the strongest cells will be in areas further south."
While the show goes on with Swift facing her fans at the Nissan stadium, the delay removes the first two acts of the concert. Phoebe Bridgers and Gracie Adams were supposed to be the opening sets of the last Nashville leg of the Eras tour. But they were no longer part of the set due to the delay. Instead, it will start with Swift hitting the stage.
The Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert was supposed to begin at around 6:30 pm local time.
