Shayne Lamas was released from the ICU after collapsing in her home last week due to pregnancy complications. The 28-year-old former "Bachelor" winner was four months pregnant with her second child when she was rushed to Mission Viejo Hospital.
During an emergency surgery, Lamas lost her baby. According to US Weekly, Lamas is out of the intensive care unit and headed towards recovery.
"Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone," she said in a statement, US reports. "I'm out of ICU at Mission Viejo Hospital. I cannot thank the medical staff her enough for not giving up on me."
"To everyone out there, please donate blood. You can save a life like mine," she continued. "In loving memory of my son, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie."
Lamas' husband, Nik Richie, told TMZ that he decided to name their son at the hospital following his death. He explained that a social worker and religious representative asked him if he wanted to hold his son for closure. Doctor's also told him that they needed to fill out a birth certificate and would need to include a name for the baby.
Upon agreeing, Richie said he went to view his baby boy and decided to name him Rex Jagger. According to TMZ, Richie said he always wanted a son named Rex added Jagger after musician Mick Jagger.
The founder of TheDirty.com also shared a heartbreaking letter he wrote to his son on the blog Tabrag.
"God has a plan for us all. He gave me an amazing son who will always watch over our family," Richie wrote in a letter. "You saved your mother's life with your passing and I will never forget how much this means to me, R.J. In family, we sacrifice for each other. You gave your life for us. You showed me how to love."
