A service dog fetched his special college diploma alongside his owner, who graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, on Monday, May 22.
Surprisingly, the cute furry canine companion graduated from college at only six years old-quite an impressive dog.
Service Dog Fetches His College Diploma
A service dog named Justin stole the show when he received a diploma at a recent graduation ceremony. According to ABC News, the remarkable dog named Justin received an honorary college diploma alongside his proud owner, marking a unique milestone at a recent graduation ceremony.
Justin's owner, Grace Mariani, graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She plans to teach young folks in elementary and special education. She received the mixed breed of Labrador and Golden Retriever through the non-profit group aptly called Canine Companions for Independence in Long Island.
And since then, the dog accompanied Mariani, assisting his owner in her day-to-day activities. Above and beyond that, Justin attended all of the classes of the Education major at Seton Hall University.
And as such, no less than the institution's president Joseph E. Nyre conferred the special diploma to her cute fluffy canine after attending all of her classes in the past years.
Cute Dog Receiving His Diploma Goes Viral
As per CBS News, Seton Hall University initially shared the video of the dog fetching his hard-earned paperwork on its social media page. It has since grabbed overwhelming attention as it went viral online. The video shows that the ceremony was filled with excitement and emotion as Justin received his custom-made diploma to recognize his invaluable contribution to his owner's academic journey.
During the commencement ceremony at the Prudential Center, Mariana stepped onto the stage to receive their hard-earned degree. The Labrador-Golden Retriever mix followed closely behind to fetch his paperwork. According to People, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers as the furry graduate proudly grabbed his honorary diploma with his mouth.
Seton Hall students and the dog's fellow alums praised Justin and his owner, Mariani, as the clip spread like wildfire on social media. Some called the viral video of the dog receiving his diploma a "wonderful moment."
The former Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi, graced the Seton Hall graduation at the Prudential Center to give his speech to the thousands of graduating students.
Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Borys Gudziak, also addressed the new university graduates.
A total of 2,337 students, which includes the Labrado-Golden Retriever dog's owner, attended graduation as they marched to get their hard-earn diplomas. That number still excludes the service canine, Justin.
